Any thoughts on a good case or screen protector?

Don't bother with a screen protector. The screen is made of Gorilla Glass and is pretty much scratchproof. It also has an oil-resistant layer on it, so won't pick up fingerprint marks as easily as a protector will.

Whilst this might be mostly true, the coating on the glass can and will scratch if you aren't careful. Having said that, there are screen protectors from Martin Fields which also have this coating. They don't have any for the SGS2 yet, but will more than likely have them soon.

GSMarena have now demo'd MHL.

They also did USB OTG - I'm quite chuffed to have scooped them on that!

did you not manage to get your non bluetooth keyboard/mouse working on your OTG?

I got my logitech unifying receiver working however my larger receiver was recognised as a "high power device"

You going to be one trying out a micro usb splitter?  I think I might once MHL comes out....although I'm slightly worried there might not be enough paths to support both HDMI and USB at the same time

It definitely cannot do MHL and USB at the same time I'm afraid, this information is straight from the MHL consortium. It detects which sort of connection it is, and then switches to that mode, they are mutually exclusive. I believe they are looking at it for the the next 2.0 spec of MHL.

Nope, non-BT keyboard and mouse did not work (nor did two different gamepads).

What is the unifying receiver? Sounds interesting. If its high power try connecting it to an externally powered hub, might work.

Yikes!

That might explain todays views (17K in three days now!).

The video was also the most favorited in the NZ Youtube homepage yesterday, surprised me!

Interesting reading huh?  Suddenly I feel a little better that I haven't splashed out on an SGS2 just yet!  Let's just hope that Samsung sort this out quickly.

Life is mostly froth and bubble, two things stand like stone - kindness in another's trouble, courage in your own.

SGSIII
ROM: WanamLite v1.3    Kernel: Ninphetamine v1.1.0   Modem: DXLEA

SGSII (Now belongs to SWMBO)

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

Oh gutted, might cancel my splitter order :S whoops!

Unifying receiver is logitechs self powered low voltage receiver, it's a non size receiver, picks up a lot of the older logitech keyboards and mice too, works well with my current keyboard/mouse + my older mx3100 and my old mini mouse, only problem is it only does logitech stuff

Hmmm, guess if the splitter won't work, I might get a mini bluetooth keyboard with touch pad and sync it.  Are you getting early access to an MHL cable through Clove? will be really interesting to see an NZ review of it!

My battery has been extra good, more news on that thread, apparently it's to do with the "sending of private data to google for analysis" which you can tick or untick when you first setup the phone.  Luckily I never did tick that box

My battery is taken up mostly by my screen, followed by Drag Racing(highly addictive...which I played for 3 or so hours this morning) battery is at 68% after 3 hours 45 minutes off charge, so it'll easily last me the entire day.

That's with:
Gmail/Gtalk/Exchange/Xtra pop3/Facebook syncing(still through Social hub, i should really try another solution)
Latitude on/GPS always on
Wifi on always
Bluetooth off - since I never use my headset in the car

Apparently there is also another problem with the phone overheating/getting quite hot? Has anybody had any experiences with that?
