CM: EDIT: Is it this one?

Yip thats the one I've got. Fits very nicely.

BTW, Amazon has some really nice ones but trouble is finding someone who will ship them here :(

This one seems pretty cool, and is way cheaper for some reason (less than $20 without postage):

Must be a cheaper version ... the rrp on the case logic lneo10 is actually $60
Case logic make good stuff but I Might give the Everki commute a go first

So my new Eee pad Docking station with keyboard arrived this morning.
Congrats to Playtech for very quick service.

The unit is very nice - looks sturdy and sleek at the same time!
Lot's of positive comment from the the techs in the office here on it.

Now I just have to wait for the pad (tablet) itself to arrive from firstin.

kind regards Andrew TD

If I wanted to watch movies stored on the transformer on a TV, would I just use this cable and the built in software? Or would I need to download a different video player? Does the external monitor on HDMI just mirror the main screen?

My movies are in all sorts of random formats.

CM, i've seen a few of your posts with no content in the past couple of days. Are you linking to screenshots on another server? I'm behind a restrictive corporate firewall, and I run ad blocking software.

BTW.. .Splashtop...

http://www.splashtop.com/

Basically its remote desktop software that works over your wireless network (NOT the interntet). So you can gain control of a PC on your network and stream it to your tablet.

It works very well. I can easily edit documents in Word or even stream movies to my tablet from my PC.

What it doesnt do is allow you to transfer files which is a major feature flaw IMHO. But other than that its very slick.

I think he is using some form of graphics as his questions are enclosed in a graphic box. I can read ok so something at your end must be blocking

timmmay: So... what does Splashtop do?

I loaded up Splashtop on my main PC. Now when I open MyCloud and click on 'My Desktop' (on the Transformer) my main PC desktop appears. And you can use it just as if you were sitting in front of your main PC (and the touchscreen works with it). So I can open Media Center on my main PC via the Transformer and watch Freeview on the Transformer in another room. Or open Outlook and check email. You can pinch etc and make things larger or smaller.
At work now and just tried it but doesn't work from here. Message says "Could not reach". So presumably you have to be using the same WiFi network as the PC you want to use (I'm now using the work WiFi network).

One of the coolest things about the Transformer that I didn't know about before I got it: the GPS navigation tool. I dunno, perhaps it's standard on all tablets. But if I'm going somewhere I can click on the Navigation ap and enter an address and it'll plot the route from where I'm currently located. And then I can drive there with the Transformer sitting on the passenger seat and it'll act as a GPS. I even downloaded the little app which adds voice. Re-routes immediately if you go a different way. You can add satellite, and other layers too. Amazing. I assumed that without 3G anything like that would need WiFi (but then I do ackowledge that I know little about these things). Very cool anyway, particularly as it was so unexpected.

That is pretty cool. Is that google maps, or is it a proper navigation app? I assume it downloads all the maps for you, since it's not a 3G device? Any suggestions/links?

I tried google maps in my office, but it can't get a GPS signal. It worked at home.

What is it like adding video content and playing it?

This would be a major use I can see myself putting a tablet to. I have had file support problems trying to load and view video on my Motorola Defy (I am not that keen to watch video on a 3.7" screen so it isn't a bother).

But I am weary of buying a tablet and having similar problems. I know file support is an issue. Is there an idiot proof way of converting files to something an the Transformer will play?

Didn't anybody tell you I was a hacker?
