I agree, nothing really taxes it too much, I think more efficient software will help more than more cores. The web browser in particular is a bit pokey.

Hey folks. A new firmware update is out which fixes browser issues, dock battery drain and introduces an app backup app (in anticipation of ICS I assume) among other fixes.

Cheers, Matt

Yes I have just downloaded and installed it.  I have disabled 'auto airplane app' that I was using to conserve battery to see if the update does what it says.

I must say I am pretty impressed by ASUS' update frequency.

Yes. The updates are thick and fast alright. I have lost count of the updates I have had since purchasing. Very impressive.

I'm also impressed with the updates, and i've read we'll get Ice Cream Sandwich some time too :-) ICS is meant to add hardware graphics acceleration, so it should be faster than 3.2 as well.

The Transformer Prime's looking pretty good. I don't need quad core as the Transformer's plenty fast enough for me, so I won't go for it, but maybe V3 will be interesting...

Honeycomb already has hardware UI acceleration

Yes, I read that it's not always turned on by default, so ICS might (or might not) be a bit faster.

My wife has a Transformer on 3.2.1 (updated a while ago) and hasn't seen any other updates. Did you guys go and get it or was it pushed?

It was pushed to me. You can go into settings and check for updates, I forget exactly where, try system or something. Sometimes updates seem to be staggered, maybe to reduce load on the server, or maybe it only checks occasionally.

Go to:  Settings > About Tablet > System Firmware Update and select 'check for update' if required.

I just checked my JB HiFi purchased Transformer and no update available yet for it.  Hopefully soon.  The battery drain is annoying

So what's the latest build number that anyone has after updating - still nothing on mine, purchased direct from US.
