derekzoolander: I ordered mine from amazon, all up for a 32 gig tablet and keyboard was about $915 NZD. The keyboard was $210 NZD and the tablet $705.

A decent saving over the NZ list price of $1100 for the same deal.

After playing around in the checkout, it looks like you can get the best deal if you buy the tablet and get GST pre charged on it, then buy the dock separately and as its under $400NZD you don't get GST added on.

That's all with super saver shipping.

That's a good price

I paid $877.50 for a 16GB with keyboard from Tech Brands
I will be claiming back the GST on both the tablet and the keyboard.

How did you find the service from Tech Brands?

So far so good, Transformer due to arrive late next week

hairy1: I have a US version. The warranty card says my EEE pad is covered by a global 1 year warranty.

Out of interest I can confirm ASUS are supporting the warranty here in NZ. Just dropped my dock off to get fixed up for the battery draining issue some of us have been having (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179048). The guys at the service centre warned me things might take a bit longer than normal due to the fact they hadn't ever laid hands on a TF before, but that ASUS had given them all the relevant information to support them.

So IMO a big thumbs up for ASUS products.

Have you got the B50 dock? I am wondering if they have pulled that version worldwide?  I notice that Dock was listed on pricespy for a while but has gone out of stock everywhere in NZ....

JB HiFi has stock of the keyboards I think. Not sure whether their version has the battery drain issue though.

justjay, can I ask where the Asus service centre is in NZ?

Yeah it is a B5 dock. I heard they havent so much pulled it as run out of stock, although no guarantee their arent some floating around somewhere.

It seems *some* B5s have the problem and some are OK. From what I can see all or most B6s are OK (or at least were able to be fixed with a firmware update).

I havent been able to get a straight answer on how long it will take to fix, to be fair to the guys at the service centre they'd never seen a transformer before and although they were aware of the problem from ASUS hadn't actually looked at the information about how to fix it they'd been sent :).

My gut feeling is its a hardware problem which will no doubt require a replacement part from Taiwan so I'm expecting to be without it for over a week. But at least its getting sorted out.

As for pricespy, did stock ever arrive? I was watching for a while but it all seemed to be "on order".

If they've got them look for the B6 serial number docks, they seem to be OK.

The service centre is TechCentral in Penrose, Auckland: http://www.techcentral.co.nz/

Although I think you need to register your RMA with ASUS first before returning it (at least thats what I did).

Honeycomb 3.2 is being pushed out today. Taiwanese models have received the update but the rest of the world still waiting. Hopefully it will happen overnight.

My tablet has finally made it to Christchurch, though it's not yet delivered to me.  Tracking was useless. It had shown the tablet had left NY at 07:55 Friday last week and that's where it sat. I phoned DHL today to be told it was in Auckland and awaiting payment of customs duties. I explained I had already paid and they released it.

I've just watched the YouTube video on rooting the tablet, though the instructions are different to the website.

So finding there's a version update is the icing on the cake.

Now I'd be truly happy if someone would sell me the dock/keyboard. I can't understand why Amazon will sell the tablet, but Amazon (the seller) wont allow the dock/keyboard to be shipped to NZ.  Daft.

It should be overnight for everyone judging by the tweet from Asus.

Same thing happened to me with the tracking. It looks like DHL Global Mail only gets the tracking information in the States. I was very surprised to see it sitting outside the front door when it was still in the States according to the tracking information.

Can anyone tell me why the Facebook app doesn't show up in the Marketplace? Do they not have a honeycomb Application?

Maybe not. Then again, why would you need an App, when Android fully supports desktop version of Facebook?

I would quite like to have a widget. The Twitter has a fairly decent tablet sized widget, looking for something similar for Facebook.

Look it up in the browser Marketplace. Your device may not be compatible with the app (there is actually one), in which case it will say so.
