I haven't had a go on the HTC Wildfire S so unsure, however the stock messaging app is probably similar. You can always get an alternative messaging app like HandCent and change the themes and sizes to however you like it.

I had handcent on a Samsung galaxy i5503 tha I used to own but found it incredibly frustrating as I had to go into the settings every time a different contact sent me a txt and change the font settings to my liking. I am encouraged by your advice re the HTC though

lol cant really compare the wildfire to the sensation my friend, completely different ball park ;) Wildfire is one of the lowest spec wise, sensation is one of the best. I guess if your talking purely price you are correct ;)

For the same reason a Porsche costs more than a Mini.

Yup - I upgraded from my "trial" Samsung I5503T to a Sensation last week...
My main gripe with the toy Samsung was the very small screen - I did look at the Wildfire as a much lower cost option, but when I compared the screen size, it was only millimetres bigger.
I realise it has other virtues, but that small screen makes it only half a smartphone.

I work with a guy who who has a touchscreen smartphone with a screen that is, I think, 2.8".

It's almost impossible for him to write an email on it without putting it into landscape mode, the screen is simply too small to use for typing in portrait mode.

It might be okay for someone with smaller fingers I suppose.

My choice was to replace the toy samsung I5503 or stick my fingers into a pencle sharpener to allow me to press one button at a time on the screen.
