BadCam: You could consider backing up your files, syncing your Gmail contacts and resetting your phone.

Really? I was hoping there was some simple solution, like "Oh, you just need to change this setting from X to Y".

Well, it'll have to wait until I get home and can back everything up.

You can try some of the suggestions on this page - http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/smartphones/troubleshooting-tricks-for-android-exchange-connection-problems/2591
Not sure if it will help with the security certificate but maybe worth trying before resetting the phone.

*Edit*
It mentions on the link I provided that recent updates may have caused the certificate to become invalid. When this is the case, sometimes it is necessary to delete the Exchange account and re-add it to the phone. Before you delete the account, I highly recommend clearing the Account and Sync Settings cache. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. Tap the Menu button on the handset.
  2. Tap the Settings button.
  3. Tap Applications | Manage Applications | All | Account and Sync Settings.
  4. Tap the Clear Data and Clear Cache buttons.
Now try connecting to your xtra email account. If the clearing the cache doesn’t resolve the problem, then it is time to delete and re-add the Exchange account.

There is a setup guide for the Sensation on Telecoms website - http://telecom.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3144

I deleted the xtra email account and tried the Telecom link for setting up a new account. It gets to step 16 (pressing Next), then step 17 (checking the settings) then comes back with the same invalid certificate message.

I'll have to try the 0800 number the guy in Telecom gave me when I get home tonight.

Just an update - The certificazte message seems to have gone away in the last week - more by itself than as a result of anything I did, I think. I do now get frequent "Login Failed" messages, but if I choose to refresh a couple of times it usually gets past this.

I have a car that fixes itself. Only problem is it seems to unfix itself too. Usually around the time the WOF is due.
The login issue, although better than the certificate problem, sounds inconvenient. All my mail accounts are Web-based and I have not had (m)any issues so far.

CdTDroiD's 4.0 version of 2.3.4. Waiting patiently for a stable ICS ROM to hit the net. Seriously wanting the new OS. :-)

Galaxy S has gone to its new home. Moved to TNZ now and happy as a canine with twin penile parts.

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner.
HTC Sensation running Jelly Bean 4.1.1, alpha AOSP ROM, on Telecom XT. Rough around the edges but showing much potential considering it's pre-beta. My daily driver now.

Should I put stock Telecom firmware back on my Sensation before selling?

I never liked the standard rom on my sensation as audio out of the speaker was too low. I rooted the phone and installed SENSEaY_XE35_v2.0.0.  Now that went the opposite. I liked most of it but audio now was very distorted.  Today I installed Leedroid v4.2.1

Now this was excellent with looks feel and espcially audio.  HOWEVER when you use camera app and then exit the sensation locks up and you have to remove the battery.  So I have downloaded SENSEay_XE35_v2.1.0.   Before I install it, has anyone had problems with it and is audio toned down a little.  Hopefully wont lock up exiting camera app. I had rebooted but camera locked up sensation every time on exiting

Thanks

Update.  I have installed CdTDroiD's SENSEay_XE35_v2.1.0 rom and so far everything seems to be fine. Cant fault it so far.  Audio is now good and not distorted.   Thank you CdTDroiD
