Personally I have enjoyed ARHD customised ROM .. this is probably the most popular custom rom out.
Has had the same quirks as most I believe .. can't remember if that was ROM or KERNEL that caused the camera thing ..

Anyway its all personal preference and  some customised ROMS are better than others where  some are just not .. Try all of them ! What have you to lose other than bandwidth and time ... maybe you can enlighten others who don't have the bandwidth and time..

Heres a link to the one I use.. and my phone gets thrashed with voice/email/apps

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1098849

I have tried a few they just didn't cut for me like this one ..

Note all phones are not equal as well so what works for you may never work for someone else.

A good indicator of a good custom ROM is the amount of posts  .. with most people very happy and a lot of support.

I once found a setting in my phone that allowed me to change the interval as to how often certain apps like gmail, tweetdeck etc sync'd for updates, and could have different timings for different times of the day (peak / non peak).

Buggared if I can find it now though, can anyone help me find it again?

Cheers!

Giving an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM a trial at present. A couple of apps are having FC problems right now so it's not really ready for prime time, but it's nice to have the new OS to play with. Most of my important apps are working fine though. :-)

Cheers,

HTC Sensation running Jelly Bean 4.1.1, alpha AOSP ROM, on Telecom XT. Rough around the edges but showing much potential considering it's pre-beta. My daily driver now.

I've been soo keen to give ICS a go, but I NEED my phone, so I'm a bit hesitant... couldn't live without Plume (twitter app) and camera!

Camera seems to be working OK. Don't use Plume so can't comment on that.

Some apps don't take kindly to hardware acceleration - weird graphical distortions and such - and other apps FC. So not really stable enough yet for everyday use, but I'm using it anyway. :-D

Liking lots of the new wrinkles and UI improvements. Others, not so much but on balance, a worthy improvement over GB.

If you go to Developer Options you can turn off 'Force 2D Hardware Acceleration' which might improve stability

Yep, been doing that with the apps the require it. Navigon is one - can't use GPU acceleration - but it runs fine with it turned off.

Anyone know of a good 3rd party battery that will last longer than the stock one?

I've been looking at the Anker 1900mAh batteries for the Sensation.

http://www.amazon.com/Anker-1900mAh-Battery-Sensation-Mytouch/dp/B0053EZJMC

They are supposed to be quite good from what I've read, good price too.

Ive made a stock ICS ROM, havent uploaded it yet will test for a couple of days but i havent had any issues at all yet.. I think most of the custom ICS ROMs are having issues because they are implementing tweaks from there gingerbread ROMs and they are just not the same, ICS has quite a different base

Got another System update today, now running software version 1.50.707.1

Everything else is stock, update was OTA, and it informed me of the update, I didn't check manually.

Only thing I know it updated is the HTC Twitter app, don't know about anything else.
