Hi everyone,

I went down the path of unlocking and rooting my HTC Sensation and all went well until I DIDNT backup my stock ROM...

Now I have a phone that boots the loader but not the OS. And since I didn't S-OFF my phone first I can't load custom ROMS.

My question is, does ANYONE out there have a copy of the stock GB ROM for the Telecom XT Sensation? Or the RUU image?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,
Ben

Are you trying to flash I C S?
If so, you will need different firmware first..

I'd like to go to ICS but since there is no Telecom stock ICS image yet I'll need to stick with GB. Once my phone is working again i'll S-OFF it and then apply a custom ICS ROM.

Cheers,
Ben

Another XDA Developers thread on porting Jelly Bean to the Sensation that seems to be tracking actual progress - less snark and more updates - right here if you're interested.

Once the release is stable, and mostly working, I'll flash and report my experience.

Cheers,
R2.

More progress toward a daily driver Jelly Bean port on the Sensation.

WiFi and audio are working now although Bluetooth still isn't. Apparently hardware acceleration for video playback is missing in action but using a media app from the market and setting software playback is a workaround for the moment.

This thread at XDA Developers has all the latest. Amazing progress by the devs and shouldn't be long before it's stable enough to use daily. Fingers crossed...

Thinking about flashing it to see what the new OS is about - I'll post when I've done the deed.

Cheers,
R2

A quick update...

Sound does work, but not through headphones, nor is there any audio when making calls, so a ways to go before it's worth flashing. Process was simple enough however and probably won't tax peeps too much when you try it out. I'd guess a week or two and we'll all be running it.

Back to ICS until it's more usable... :-)

Cheers,
R2

Hi all.
SO.....lastnight I decided to screw telecom, I would put ICS on my phone. I left a message on the telecom FB page asking where the ICS stuff was at....no reply. Typical.

Anyway, now I have an expensive boot screen !!!  yip thats right, followed the steps, and it just sits there loading the main HTC screen then it reboots.
I have seen others have has the same issue, but their phones came right!
I gave up at 1am :(

So now I am of course kicking myself!

One question I have tho is, when you go into the boot menu, power + vol-  there is a factory reset option. Does any one know if that, apart from wiping my data, would fix the issue?

Thanks, Jeremy

I would say you need to match your firmware to your ROM. I had the same problem.

There's a number of ways to get started but to make your life easy, I'd use this method.

Rule of thumb - always do a factory reset before flashing any new ROM, and always do a backup of your current image before you flash so you can return to a working ROM if it goes pear-shaped.

The ROM referenced above is stock except for the inclusion of Beats, and will give you a platform for moving to other ICS ROMs when the mood takes you. You'll need new firmware when you eventually move to Jelly Bean.

HTH.

R2
