Can anyone who recommend an android app (can be paid) that you can use to remotely locate your phone. I want a simple app that doesn't do too much else, where i can somehow remotely locate my phone if i should lose it.

There are a few apps out there but im after some personal recommendations.

Anyone?

I recommend SeekDroid: https://market.android.com/details?id=org.gtmedia.seekdroid&hl=en
It's only $1 on Android Market. Why disable your gps btw? it doesn't use power unless an application is actively using it.

oh also SeekDroid can remotely enable your gps to locate your phone, it does require a data connection to be active though.

I'd prefer something with a website to check location on than a clumsy magic code in a txt message.

www.seekdroid.com is where you go to locate your phone, can also give you call history and set an alarm off on the phone with a custom message for whoever finds it. It can also Lock and Wipe your phone remotely.

lokhor, thanks for that, i've installed seekdroid and its just what im after. No "antivirus" junk, just a lightweight locating app.
It does everything i need although its not perfect. It work work if a thief inserts a different sim as there will be no data session (they'd have to set up the APNs), and the new SIM stops the google account login which means that the link between the website the and the seekdroid app wont work.
But im not worried as i keep a screen lock on anyway so they'd have to factory reset it anyway.
At least if i lose it i'll be able to find it again.
Cheers

I would recommend prey, it does a good job and it has clients for multiple devices as well.

Tried all of the above and had the most reliable success with Seekdroid.
Its handy to get the last dialed numbers too :-)
