Kopkiwi: I tried ICS but Titanium Backup doesn't work with it.

Works fine for me on CM9 and on the ICS leaks. What's the problem?

Wouldn't have a clue...just wouldn't get granted root permissions.

you probably need supoeruser just go to market and download it should fix TB

Would definitely try that.

Loss of proper Root privileges is a known problem with ICS ROMs unless you follow instructions to the letter, so it may be more than just not having SU installed. If it is more than that then I think the best advice to to go back to a CFRooted GB ROM, flash the CFRepack in Mobile Odin, then flash the ICS again (full wipes of course). Should be fine after that, but make sure you follow any additional instructions the dev has in their ROM thread for the ICS ROM.

Cheers guys. Have SU and CWMR installed on GB. Think I might just install CM9. Seems the easiest way to get ICS and sufficiently working ROM.

I upgraded to CM9 and there are some apps that keep saying "your device is not compatible with this version" and after a reboot now don't even appear in the market? What gives?

Known issue with the earlier test versions. Put build #6 on there, wipe the data for the market app and reboot again and you should be fine.

Going to hold off on the Beta builds, not really adding anything to the device, can instsall apps easy enough through the SD Card.

Any news on when a full, non Beta release, will get done?

Loving the new CM9 build 7. Buttery smooth, no issues so far.

From Build 6 it seems pretty bulletproof. Not had any issues at all with it, it's fast, the battery life is excellent (2 days with ~30% left, admittedly I turn it off whilst I'm sleeping though).

The only potential issue is that the microphone stops working in "Speakerphone" mode - I use this sometimes but it's not a deal breaker.

I think there's some preview issue with the camera or video, but I don't really care about that.

The devs are largely in "cleanup" stage at this point, once they've got the remaining major bugs I'd say they'll submit the branch into the official tree and it'll become an officially supported CM9 device.

I'd give it about a fortnight, but it's pretty good right now.

It'll be even better if/when they ever release the ICS source so they can get the custom from-scratch kernel working 100%.

For those of you who haven't read this yet: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1633943

The CM9 experimental builds seem to be the only 'safe' ICS roms at the moment. For now, I'm back to DarkyRom on GB. A 5% chance of hardbrick is high enough IMO.

Bring it on!

How is it controlled? eg my old Nokias I changed product code to a countries code that had the update available.

I'll be doing a guide later for those who don't want to wait, and more importantly for those already on leaked ICS builds to update safely (risk of hard brick folks!).

Odin-flashable versions of ICS are available from XDA, forum links off the article on their front page.

Initial feedback is that it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I got an OTA firmware upgrade for my Note yesterday - was all excited I was going to get ICS goodness. But after the upgrade it didn't appear to have changed anything :(

I got my phone from ExpertInfortech, so it ended up being a Polish one! That may affect what upgrades I receive and when.

kind regards Andrew TD

The "Polish" firmware is pretty much the open-Europe OXA version so you should get all the updates for it fairly early in the program.
