P1n3apqlExpr3ss: Just noticed that JB Hi-Fi are advertising the 64GB version with dock for $1249, pricing isn't too bad

Seems a little pricey (given it would still be cheaper to import pay taxes and fees) But it is always nicer to buy local. And it does always seem safer even though it shouldn't matter where you buy from

Just looking over at B&H their primes and keyboards look due for 25 Feb. Is there any official word on what has taken so long seeing as this Tab was released last year, why has it taken so long to get stock?
Even Clove before they dropped it didn't expect sufficient stock until this time either.

I cant imagine their has been overwhelming pre orders to decimate stock, and there has been stock for smaller scale sellers.

I ordered my dock and tablet from B&H on 28 Nov, they still don't have stock to meet the order. Just picked up the tablet from Expert Infotech yesterday (it was the last one in stock, but they said they're getting more next week). About to cancel my tablet order from B&H, although will still get them to fulfill the dock order.

Got the dock yesterday, wow it is extremely nice with the Prime! Too bad I had to give it back to my editor for completing his review... Looking forward to getting it back.

Rather than waiting for the dock I would get it from Ebay now to be honest. I got mine for like $225NZD including shipping via DHL, doubt you will get it much cheaper from B&H or anywhere else once shipping is included (for reference that is similar to the cost of the original TF dock in NZ).

May I ask from which seller? There are a few I see who are selling the version with Chinese characters alongside the English. Not sure if I want that version (although I would like to learn Chinese...)

Since I already have an order with B&H, and a friend is travelling to the states at the end of this month, I could ship it to him to bring it back. If there's one online for a decent price, then I could save the wait.

The docks that Expert Infotech are getting next week are apparently champagne; I've got the grey tablet.

Oh, anyone know where I might get a case for this in Auckland? A couple of Ebay that I like the look of, but don't want to leave this unprotected for too long...

I got a case for my Transformer v1 from JB Hifi, a neoprene one meant for a netbook. It works well.

I got mine from buyshoptw - offered them $190 for it and asked for a quote on DHL - they accepted the offer and threw in DHL for free. Does have the asian characters on it, doesn't bother me at all since I don't type by sight, but of course YMMV!

When I was their they said getting new sock this friday.
I had originally had an order with Clove UK which they pulled due to the reported Wifi and GPS issues.

Where did you get it from for $200 shipped? I've found one on ebay for $158 US, which will work out around $230 shipped. With my tablet I ended up being charged an extra $100ish which I assume was the GST

Hi, I registered my eBay sourced Prime on https://vip.asus.com/login.aspx which may help?

Alternatively http://support.asus.com/download.aspx?SLanguage=en&m=Eee%20Pad%20Transformer%20Prime%20TF201&p=20&s=16&os=32&hashedid=FqCKMQDqgvSncfFM has a number of downloads. Firmware versioning depends on where your Prime was sourced from i.e. US SKU, TW SKU, WW SKU etc.

I have not tried downloading these as my Prime has done two Firmware upgrades on its own since I got it in January 2012.

Good luck.

I can confirm the GPS issues. Absolutely no lock on the few satellites that randomly appear and immediately vanish again. I'd say you're one of the fortunate few.

WiFi has been fine for me. No probs there at all.

I found the still images from the camera to be noisy and lacking dynamic range, at least compared to my Sensation.

Think the dock is the biz - don't think I'd consider a tablet without one, but that's prolly just me.

Glad you're enjoying yours...

Cheers,
R2

HTC Sensation running Jelly Bean 4.1.1, alpha AOSP ROM, on Telecom XT. Rough around the edges but showing much potential considering it's pre-beta. My daily driver now.
