snowfly: Anyone ordered from Clove in the UK before?
http://www.clove.co.uk/asus-eee-pad-transformer-prime-tf201-32gb-with-keyboard-champagne-gold
£415.83 + £24 delivery to NZ (and then the GST charge from customs).

I did have a pre-order with B&H in the US back in late November 2011, but cancelled it due to getting sick of waiting and no aswers from them after 6 weeks.

Heaps of people here on GZ have - and it seems that they are universally happy with Clove.

kind regards Andrew TD

Ordered mine from a seller in Taiwan on ebay last week, and it arrived today! Unfortunately it's at my parents' house so I won't get to test it out till tomorrow. I paid 450 pounds all-up... Not sure if I've been charged a GST bill by customs - didn't realise that would happen, as mentioned above.

Reeeally hoping to turn it on to a notification that ICS is ready to be downloaded. Anyone know if the NZ primes have been given the update yet?

As for reviews, the most indepth one out there at the moment would have to be Anandtechs

Lies! They have the most technically detailed reviews, I have the most indepth reviews!

:)

First video up, usual pedestrian unboxing affair I'm afraid, more to come soon though:

So what happened to this stellar review you promised, or did you have to start over when you installed ICS?

Trust me, full reviews do take a while, even when you dont have a lot of other commitments to worry about

I never promised a stellar review, I was talking about my existing stellar review for the Galaxy Note!

One of my editors will be doing the review, he took possession of the Prime today (and yes, waiting until ICS hit was a factor, little point in doing it on HC really knowing that ICS would land soon - thanks heavens for ASUS - the one company I trust with quick updates).

I'll be doing a review on the Tab 7.7 :)

Thanks for that! I think people who have never written a full review don't understand the amount of work that goes into them, especially when you have a family and a day job.

As it was those videos were done instead of sleeping!

NZTechfreak's review videos are really decent and they do take a while so quit whining, when they come out is when they come out. Just be patient.

Got my Prime today! It really is very beautiful. But now I have to wait for it to charge :( I've been looking up whether or not it's okay to use it while charging for the first time, and no-one seems to really know.  There's even controversy as to whether you even need to have it plugged in for the whole 8 hours (apparently this type of battery does not have a memory anyway), but I'm not going anywhere so will at least do that.

I just really want to have a play on it, otherwise I won't get a chance till after work tomorrow. It turns on automatically when you plug it in anyway, but I turned it off after doing the initial set-up. I'm thinking I might wait as long as I can (at least 4 hours to get the battery fully charged), and then boot it up and have a play but still leave it plugged in.

What do you think? Am I being too impatient??

If you don't mind me asking, what price and where you got it from? And how long it took to arrive?

I ordered it from a seller in Taiwan on eBay - I paid 450 pounds including shipping ($830NZ... Which I figure is similar to what they will be charging for it here anyway) and it arrived 5 working days after I ordered it :)

Personally i'd get it at least four hours to charge, unused, then play with it if you like plugged in. Leave it plugged in overnight.

You can read about lithium batteries on battery university - google it.

Was the eBay Prime vendor funnyBom? cause I can't get an option for him/her to ship to me here in NZ? Few USA vendors but price more than $830NZ.... I am wary of a G S T import bill but it shouldn't incur an import duty according to customs website, might risk it. Did you get the Champagne Gold one?
