I have native USB 3, I could try charging from that.

The TF101 charger supplies a heck of a lot of current, and it gets quite warm. A smaller one might overheat from the draw from the battery. It's a pretty big battery.

Yes - I saw that notice from Clove. Last week we got one of our people to buy a unit in Australia while they were there. He hasn't reported any problems with our unit - yet. Lets' hope we got a good one! We get our hands on it next week.

kind regards Andrew TD

I had an order from clove now canceled due to faulty units, so my question is to all the Prime owners here:
Have you come across any faults particularly with WiFi and GPS recption, as i thought this is the main cause. Is the wifi reception noticeably different than other devices?

In relation to the WiFi I think that issue has been well overblown. Most other users have found this also, including notable folk like Paul OBrien who know what they're doing. GPS reception is a hardware issue, no denying that. Besides the GPS I found it excellent. Should get my Prime back soon, and my dock coming soon also (Ebay), and so I'll have more thoughts then (the AndroidNZ review coming any day now too).

Just noticed that JB Hi-Fi are advertising the 64GB version with dock for $1249, pricing isn't too bad

I think the wi-fi is fine. I live in a pretty big, old house. Our router is in the lounge down one end of the house, while my bedroom is upstairs and at the other end, and I can easily use the wi-fi from my bedroom. Not so good at my parents' house from one end to the other, but that was probably because the signal would have to travel through concrete foundations.

I haven't really tested out the GPS (haven't had any real need to, seeing as it's a wi-fi only device). It did think I was in Fendalton when I was in lower Riccarton... But hey, not really an issue for me.

Where did you see this advertised? Can't find it on the JB Hi-Fi website.
Any idea of release date?

The JB Hifi flyer was delivered to our letterbox in Auckland this afternoon. The 64GB version bundled with the keyboard dock is advertised for $1247.

Pricespy shows two other retailers with the 32GB models - Expert Infotech and PB Technologies.

Was in a flyer that I got today, doesn't mention anything about a release date so I assume they're stocking them already. I think they might be parallel imported units so stock will be pretty limited, haven't heard anything from Asus NZ yet

Did the flyer mention the prime colour? Grey or champagne gold?
Shame New Plymouth doesn't have a JB Hifi store, will have to call the nearest one.

No colours mentioned but the photo is a stock one of the charcoal model. A thorough dig around the website turns up nothing ...

PBtech were expecting stock too - their price with dock was $1040 for the 32GB w/dock.

Incidentally, ArtooDetoo has completed the first instalment of his Prime review here: http://www.androidnz.net/2012/02/transformer-prime-real-user-review-part.html
