hey i was just wondering if anyone had the same issue as I do on there lg black, with about 50% of my battery use coming from the notorious call standby and 50% phone idle over night!its put on a full charge at 10pm and by 6am its used 65% of my battery, iv just had the phone repaired (by 2deg)as it would not recognise any sim card, they replaced the mainboard,iv taken it back to 2deg but they say they cant find anything wrong with it,but having had android phones for the last 3years and this one for only 4months i haven't come across a phone that uses this much battery over night,so if you think you can help with some kind of settings i could try please post a reply, thanks

There is nothing wrong, these phones just suck a battery dry like there is no tomorrow!

Hopefully the Gingerbread update due within the next week or so might fix things.

These phones simply have terrible batter life, there is no issue.

I take my phone off the charger every morning at 6am and have to charge it during the day if I want to make it to 5pm and not have a flat phone.

I have a P970.

Yes it's not right, but the reality is it's normal for this phone. Google the issue and you'll find everybody complains about the poor battery performance.

right or wrong I bought one of these.  The battery life is better than my HTC Sensation.  The audio is better on loudspeaker but the main reason I got it was reviews saying screen is visible in sunlight. I heard that Sensation was visible too but not for me it wasnt. I was sceptical about LG black but here at Papamoa I find it is still very clear in bright sunlight. Very pleased with this phone so far.  The one I have is LG P970H  and can be used fully on Telecom or Vodafone or 2 degrees network.    I dont have the link at present but I saw today the announcement from LG that they will be updating the 970 to ICS which is better than I hoped for.

They have announced ICS but the big question will be when - Gingerbread has once again been delayed after being announced (for about the 5th time - it's now 4 months overdue) for the W/C 28th November.

This doesn't appear to be any different to the link I posted a month ago detailing how to flash a test ROM - it is certainly not the official release and is buggy if you read the references to it elsewhere.

although I have no experience with LG I can't believe that a loss of 65% overnight can be described as normal. There must be something in blatware that is stopping phone from deep sleep, maybe downloading betterbatterystats would hgelp identify this.
Be interested in what you find with going flight mode, also can you switch data off ?

I am using the LG optimus one p500, my phone uses 15-20% of battery overnight.
Make sure you close any additional apps, such as ndrive, google map or any battery sucking app...
I rem having some apps or wifi open in one night, half of the battery was gone in the next morning.

Yea as i saying theres no way it should use that much,i saved about 8% by useing airplane mode but get this it would still use up the battery when turned off! Needless to say but iv returned it to lg last week it seems to be another problem with the mother board!god knows how long i'l have to wait for it to come back the last time it was 5 weeks!
