Vivasanti: Whats the deal with swift key? i grabbed it anyways, ive been using smart keyboard pro for ages and i just cant see why people rave about it, i dont like how you cant hide the full stop and other buttons near the spacebar, with that tiny SB i keep hitting the full stop. arrggg

/fustration

Loving the cheap apps though :D

Yeah don't know either, I bought it ages ago but went back to Swype as I like it better.

You are not supposed to use the space bar. By using the text prediction buttons space gets inserted automatically and it improves your writing speed a lot. I hardly ever use the normal letter keys anymore, as swiftkey already knows most of my standard sentences. It takes a little getting used to, but once you are its awesome.

If you like puzzles I can recommend Toki Tor from todays selectioni, I had the game on my iPhone and its not just super cute, its also quite tricky.

Today's selection is pretty average, Paper Camera is back, and the only other interesting one for me is Shazam Encore, but they had Soundhound the other day

Starting to see the charges on my credit card. A little surprised they charged 10x 10c instead of just accumulating them into one charge as the App Store does. They were all bought within a few minutes..

Only got a couple of today's.

Downloaded the Sentinel 3 game, while installing it said an additional download was required. Got a connection lost error message 3 times. Won't even bother.

Deleted!

No downloads for me today, I got enough games previous days to last me since I don't usually get games at all. Seems they started off strongly but the selection is pretty average today. Hopefully it picks up again! Still many more days left.

Day 5 and nothing too exciting today. Pano a panoramic photo app looks ok. Apparatus which I have bought in the past and the only other one which I installed in my Acer Tablet is SlideIT.

I know they are only 10c, but I would rather see more "useful apps" than HD wallpapers and games all the time. Lets hope the next 5 days brings something better.

Slide IT is the pick of today for me. Bought it just in case I tire of SwiftKey or for using on the tablet.

Thanks for the heads up on Pano, I ignored it as I couldn't immediately tell what it was. Will grab now.

Yerp, thanks for the pano heads up.

Bought the Season Zen HD too, cause it looks cute, gosh I can be soo girlie at times.
No idea what it is or what it does, but that shows you the power of $0.10

Bought "Reckless Getaway" and "Great little war game" over the last few days too.

Oh, Season Zen HD is just wallpapers... I should have guessed.. Hay look, there's one with a live (geo positioned???) map.
Cool, I can promenade the beach front streets in my budgie smugglers while watching my position on the phone.... and then smack into a lamp post cause I'm not watching where I'm going. Technology and reality merged into a lamp post, only a Geek could achieve that.

Interesting the likes of ROM Manager and Titanium Backup which need root access have not been offered yet. I wonder if that is deliberate?

I was hoping for the same thing, I would imagine they wont be offered at all due to need rooting requirements. Plus how many Androidians actually know what "root access" is? Maybe 2-3%? That leaves the majority to download the app and then complain it doesnt work.

Yeah and I guess by offering anything like that they could be accused of legitimising root access which may not go down well with handset suppliers.

Yeah, have been comparing SlideIT, SwiftKey and Sywpe Beta and it's still Sywpe for me I think.

I'm still surprised Sywpe is beta and isn't in the market, they must of got a nice amount of change from the handsets it's preloaded on in order to not bother.

I picked up SlideIT for the Galaxy Nexus since Swype isn't yet compatible. It works ok but it is definitely not the same. Often it just doesn't know what word you are trying to write and doesn't even guess, whereas Swype will at least take a punt.

Day 8 tomorrow. Lets hope that there are some decent apps in the line up - such as productivity apps.
The only two in my opinion worth looking at today are Soundhound and Beautiful Widgets, both of which I already have.

What are your opinions on the apps?
