I noticed some of you reported call quality issues, just wondering putting a case will have same effect too ?

I appreciate advise from any one who already using case.

BTW am planning to buy rock case

Neets:

Did you do the *#0*# LCD test?

Yep, sure did. Just setting up the replacement now. When I took the phone in I kept saying "I know it sounds really petty but I do want a replacement..."

Pixel test for the new phone has passed, all looking good. Time to set everything up and install all those apps I was holding off on.

On another note, what was the app which lets you configure the LED alerts for different apps?

On the contrary - I'm super impressed with the call quality on the S3, made a couple of calls on speaker phone and very clear and easy to understand.

Foo: Just picked up my replacement SGS III - the first had a couple of stuck pixels. Just charging it up before I do the pixel test :-)

Now I can let myself properly customise things, something I held off doing until I got the replacement.

I'm about to fire off an email to WHS about my screen too.  I have already rooted so I suspect I'll have to go in-store to show the problem with the screen (under dark conditions - which is how I use it in the morning while others sleep in).

I'll have to un-root it.  Have yet to find out if there's a method to un-root, or I have to flash the stock ROM to it.

Hope your new one is good to go :)

Just run triangleaway first, then use odin to flash the stock rom.

Thanks Brendan, I've got both those so should be fine.

Do you need root on the S3 for it to work?

Loving the S3 but why did Samsung take Swype away? Not a fan of Samsung's version, not as user friendly.

How do you change the default calendar when adding events? It always defaults to "Samsung Calendar" so frustrating!

viperguy: Well after procrastinating and fondling in stores

Haha I had to laugh...it's actually like that!

I did the same this week...I own a White S3 already, but since the Blue one came out I have been looking and fondling them this week too...So today I went and grabbed one and gave the White one to the wife.

Good on the wife for being a good sport!

Bought a blue from Jb Hi Fi Dunedin today and also a Samsung 'Essential Accessory Gift Pack' which includes:
1. Flip cover http://www.samsung.com/nz/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone/accessories/EFC-1G6FWECSTD?subsubtype=others-multimedia
q
uite good as it replaces the phones back cover with the cover over the screen

2. Clear slim covers x 2 - couldn't find these on Samsung website. Aftermarket covers?

3. Spare battery

4. Battery charging stand http://www.techmaish.com/the-official-accessories-of-samsung-galaxy-s3/
The 'stand' is ok but is really only for charging the spare battery. It has a slot to stand your phone in but no connection to charge! There is a pic of one in the link

all for $80
