n95: Bought a blue from Jb Hi Fi Dunedin today and also a Samsung 'Essential Accessory Gift Pack' which includes:
1. Flip cover http://www.samsung.com/nz/consumer/mobile-phone/mobile-phone/accessories/EFC-1G6FWECSTD?subsubtype=others-multimedia
q
uite good as it replaces the phones back cover with the cover over the screen

2. Clear slim covers x 2 - couldn't find these on Samsung website. Aftermarket covers?

3. Spare battery

4. Battery charging stand http://www.techmaish.com/the-official-accessories-of-samsung-galaxy-s3/
The 'stand' is ok but is really only for charging the spare battery. It has a slot to stand your phone in but no connection to charge! There is a pic of one in the link

all for $80

That's really a good deal for the accessory pack.  Are the spare battery and charging stand original Samsung accessories or aftermarket? The reason I am asking is that I bought my original battery from Clove for around NZ$60 and saw the original charging stand for NZ$81 from Mobilefun.co.uk. So $80 is an extremely good deal. Did you buy it from JB as well?

Wow that is awesome. Does it come in white? And also is that the retail price or did you just manage to get a great deal? Wonder if any other stores have one in-stock.

tyrion69: Loving the S3 but why did Samsung take Swype away? Not a fan of Samsung's version, not as user friendly.

Go here http://beta.swype.com/ and you may be able to register and download it

+1 really got used to using swype when I had S1 and S2, the samsung's version just not the same. Thanks for the above link kiwitrc, downloaded and installed it.

bignicko: Is it definite that telecom phones will work with 2degrees with no issues?

An update for those waiting for Blue 16GB from NL the special Q Bday deal @ $839 according to NL Head Office they should be due around 27th June so they say. I managed to get a Blue one lastnight from NL Papanui store in CHC, however it is an XT Telecom one, NL were not keen to sell to me and Telecom themselves assured me it would NOT work on 2 degrees network. I double checked spoke to 3 different people at 2 degrees and they assured me it will work fine, just need that micro sim from 2 degrees which I will get on Monday, then I can begin using the S3. NL need to be a bit more knowlegable on the phones could have had the phone a week or so earlier.

The other option was swap over to Telecom if no joy on 2 degrees.

Yes from JB Hi Fi. The sales person was holding a white one when I went in store. I too thought is was a good deal as I have paid more for genuine samsung batteries (for my S1) in the past.

Retail I think was $87.95, I got a small discount. It is all genuine Samsung as far as I can tell (see pic below). The flip cover is nice as the replacement back cover part is identical to the original blue cover.
Just to be clear on the charging stand, although it has a slot to stand your phone in will not charge your phone (not unless you take the battery out of your phone). The charger is really just for the spare battery. Why they didn't include the micro usb plug in the bottom of the stand part I don't know, would have been much better.

i chucked a cover on mine, and have not had any issues at all with call quality, no dead pixels so thus far not doing too bad, love the phone, only niggle i have is when using the phone landscape, i sometimes touch the back button on the right side, but other than that, its a sexy assed phone

this is after my first charge cycle, so second full charge on hte phone, using the phone as needed texting, madea  few calls, played around with camera etc.. very very impressed

EDIT: had about 6 hours of screen time

I might get the accessory pack as well for my wife's white S3.

It doesn't bother me about the charging stand as that's all I need, when I need to sync it, I just plug in the data cable. I just need a charger to charge my spare battery.

I'll see if our local JB would have the pack in stock.

I had no question about whether it would work. The question was if it would have no issues. I am waiting for the VF version, because I have found a few references to slight differences in the radio chip for the i-9300T that telecom uses - namely it is optimised for the 850mhz band rather than the 900mhz that VF and 2D use. I think I mentioned the differences in an earlier post (or a link to a discussion elsewhere about it). NL also offered me an available Telecom unit if I wished.

How did you find pictures quality? i find it very unusable , lot of noise . indoors even worse even with good lighting.
I dont see any difference at all from my previous I9000!

My 5yr old N95 will beat it anyday !

One thing S3 good at is picture to picture speed ,just amazing.

yeah, indoor photos can be problematic , but i found if the overall light is good inside its not so much of a problem, outdoor is fine so far

edit: im also sure that there will be an update at some point to address this
