networkn: Anyone else having problems with s-beam? I can't get it going. If I have a picture on screen and touch 2 sbeam enabled s3's together then I get a prompt to send which I press, the other unit says connecting, then it says seperate units and then nothing.

I've tried it twice, both between the same two S3 phones.  It worked perfectly the first time, and the 2nd time it took a couple of tries to get the message on the screen. But it did work.  Pebble Blue 16GB Rooted (both)

So much to do!! Cool

Ninpo/Netarchy are back in the game too, and have released Ninphetamine - great to see them back on the kernel dev scene!

Congrats!  You had to wait a day more than you thought. That must have been difficult :)

Warehouse Stationary in Papanui have been really great. I emailed them the reply I had from WHS Customer Service who suggested I get a replacement or refund for the faulty display.

Papanui branch got back to me really quickly to say they didn't have a Pebble Blue but have ordered one in from another store and are happy to replace.  Of course I'll be checking the replacement doesn't have the same problem, or any new one - like tinting in photos.  I'm feeling extra fussy all of a sudden.

Yeah, annoying. . . . SWMBO assures me I'm not allowed to play with it until my actual birthday later in the week!

Regarding that screen test that showed up the black blobs, which options show it up the best?

Life is mostly froth and bubble, two things stand like stone - kindness in another's trouble, courage in your own.

SGSIII
ROM: WanamLite v1.3    Kernel: Ninphetamine v1.1.0   Modem: DXLEA

SGSII (Now belongs to SWMBO)
ROM: WanamLite v12     Kernel: Siyah v3.3.2   Modem: BVLPB

SGS

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

In the dialer:  *#0*#  Then select the Vibration test.  Go to the dog box (I mean dark room), with the phone set to minimum brightness, and auto brightness unticked.  Enjoy Wink

In case you're not aware, Google Play is having a "Longest Day Deals" sale.

The Jamie Oliver meal set is there, I don't know how much because I already have it installed.  Someone from one of the Galaxy threads had been interested in that particular one in the past. Most of the apps/games are less than NZ$2.00.

Link.

It's easier to open a pure black image in a dark room... esp if you want to test vs say a SGSII like I did :)

Anyone applied their Xtreme Guards yet?

Put mine on a few minutes ago, still drying, but first impressions are it's a bit crap.

Might have to pull it back off, looks alright on the back, however I can see it scratching up pretty fast. The front is a bit grainy, and feels grippy. Think I prefer smooth!

Mine arrived this morning but I haven't used them because I still don't have my S3 yet Frown

I'm not sure how good they'll be, but the instructions say that they improve after a day or two.

Please keep us informed on what you think of them over the next few days.

I'm thinking I'll just apply the rear protectors and source some decent screen ones
Anyone with screen protectors that are smooth and not noticable? I don't mind going through a few protector's a year, etc

Trust me it wont improve even giving it 6months period of usage lol. This is a common problem with these kind of screen protector. This is why I ordered 10x of cheap screen protectors as well as the ExtremeGuard.

It is great for the back cover and that is what I wanting it for. I used to have that on my phone and trust me it ruined the clarity. I applied the cheap screen protector on my colleague yesterday and I am still got the skill :) no bubble no dust.

**On the warning side: My colleague's S3 got a noticeable scratch on his screen already from 3 weeks of usage without screen protector. The Gorilla 2 is not scratch proof.
