lokhor: Jelly Bean! Wonder how long until we get it..

Q3, 2012.

Life is mostly froth and bubble, two things stand like stone - kindness in another's trouble, courage in your own.

SGSIII

SGSII (Now belongs to SWMBO)

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

MurrayM: Something a bit weird happened to my S3 this morning when I unlocked the screen for the first time today.

It immediately opened up the video player. So I thought that I must have accidentally tapped something and I pressed back to go back. This landed me in the ASB mobile banking app, which I haven't opened for a couple of days. Pressing back again landed me in a game that I haven't played since the weekend. I pressed the home button and the home screen came up.

I don't know how all these apps started up by themselves, very strange. My partner swears she hasn't touched my phone.

I've seen similar behaviour when the launcher crashes - it will sometimes drop you into random apps.  In my experience, it's usually the stock browser.

Is this an estimation? I'm thinking it might be in ~3 months as Samsung should have had the PDK for 3 months already

Good to know that I'm not alone!

I thought about restarting the phone but it's been ok since.

Did you use a third party launcher? This will only happened when your launcher crashed or being updated from Play store automatically. Hope this help

Nope, no third-party launcher, quite happy with TouchWiz.

Nova launcher has a nasty habit of reloading itself for me. It'll lock the phone to a black screen for about 5 seconds and then reload the desktop rather than loding random apps. I'm 'glad' others are having similar troubles but thought for sure the default launcher would be fine, a bit sad it's also afflicted.

Yeah this happened for me with TouchWiz and with Apex, even though Apex has a setting to supposedly keep itself in memory. There is a build.prop tweak if you're rooted that can help but doesn't entirely remove the problem.

I got the same problem with my S2 lol. One early morning it just start playing music and woke me up from my sleep. It was my Apex Launcher crashed. Usually Flash player or some third party applications that contributed into this problem. Otherwise it could be the launcher just decided to walk toward the light and died.

I am having trouble using Samsung Dive re "track my Mobile"
Everytime I try the "Track my Mobile" feature I just get the fail message
I think I have entered the correct number using international dialing code and also I have activated my google and samsumg account on my phone...is there something else that I should be doing..ie have I left a step out?
thanks

Suggest you try Cerberus, much better app for mobile security.
