Just thought people here might like to know there is a new camera firmware out for the s3.

Cam firmware and ISP versions can be checked by typing:
*#34971539# and then Phone/CAM FW Ver Check for Cam firmware version and "ISP Ver Check" for ISP version.

How to flash here: http://gadget-mag.com/galaxy-s3-firmware-update-for-the-camera/.

Mine (2degrees s3 white) went from firmware GDFD06 to firmware GDFE01, which is currently regarded as the best. Apparently we have some good camera modules and some bad - just like on the s2....

My one seems ok. I suggest taking a variety of pictures with it before and after the flash to see if you notice anything especially in low light conditions. XDA thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1724124.

Hi guys,

Got a little issue with my S3....

It won't charge via the mains or car charger, only the USB cable.

I've tested it with 2 AV chargers and 1 car charger and neither will charge the phone, only way I can get it to charge is via a USB cable.

I did a factory reset last night and now intermittently, it will get a charge from AC charger however this only lasts a few seconds - USB charging is constant.

Any idea what could be causing this?

Is it the charger that came with the phone?
If not use the charger that came with the phone as others have reported that some 3rd party mains to usb micro cords don't charge it, (do you have a friend with a s3 as well? if so take it around to there place and see if there cord works to charge it).
Could be a faulty cord

Otherwise if it is the charger than came with the phone

Pull the battery out and leave it out for 10 minutes.

Put back in the phone and plug the charger in (leave the phone off) see if the charging icon/screen comes up.

If not and still only charge by USB then return to shop

That flashing guide has the most atrocious english i've ever read. I'm not even b=going to bother trying it in case I misunderstand it.

My 2D S3 has camera firmware ZDFE02 for the time being anyway.

Has anyone else had any problems with the power button?
I have started to find when I press the power button to lock the screen it will instead reboot the phone.
Button seems to become "stuck" quite frequently.

this is a slap in the face!
