NZtechfreak:I wouldn't worry too much about JB. Best thing about it is project butter, which only makes my Nexus 7 as smooth as the S3 is anyways. The new notifications are nice too, but not really earth shattering. The S3 still does a number of things the JB cannot do, so all up I'm not fazed waiting.

So do you think Touchwiz is a better daily driver interface then than say a G-nex with JB? Don't get me wrong the Touchwiz interface as far as I'm concerned is awesome, not perfect, but still a decent daily driver interface.

I rather use Nova or Apex over TouchWiz or JB to be perfectly honest, and wouldn't use stock JB even if I did still have a G Nex!

You should try one of those two launchers out - stock look with many more features and you still get lots of the TouchWiz enhancements!

I took my duff SG3 back today, with luck i might have a new unit tomorrow! Also found that my local has the casemate range in stock, quite like the look of the Tough case, think ill pick it up at the same time, $40 is a good price too.
Hopefully my Sdcard, OTG and screen protectors arrive tommorrow as well.. All i need to do now is sort out a MHL cable, im not paying those stupid prices for the official sammy one though

I bought the Casemate Tough case and am very happy with it.  It's nice and grippy and should protect my phone quite well. I haven't bothered with a screen protector yet as I don't keep my phone anywhere where it might scratch up against something (i.e. like in a hand bag or briefcase).

As for the MHL cables, I'm keeping my eyes open as I won't pay those silly prices either.  There should be third-party ones soon.

kiwitrc: Put Pandora on my wife's phone last night using Market Enabler, but does anyone know if it is possible to sideload an apk without having root? I have never tried this.

Not sure, think you should be able to though. I have the latest Pandora Radio apk if you want it. Just PM me for a link.

How is everyone transferring files from phone to pc? I've tried a few ways so far and havent found a user friendly solution. Tried using web browser and kies air app, also tried the kies program you install on your pc, took forever to install and refused to connect to my phone even with the data cable. We have wireless at home and the kies air app kind of does the job but its just so clunky and awful to use, there must be something better.

Sometimes I just plug a USB cable in and copy and paste the files.

Other times I use an app called WebSharing Lite which gives me a file explorer in a browser window on my PC and operates via WiFi.

I connect usb cord and plug into pc and transfer back and forward quickly on Windows 7.
I wanted to switch to Linux but it wouldnt connect with Linux and I have others that dont work on Linux and a hassle swiitching back and forth so back to Windows 7 only.   With Windows 7 it just works so smoothly

Similar problems on linux - although an app at xda "SGS3 Easy UMS" allows easy access to the external microSD card for file transfers.

Otherwise, I've taken to using dropbox to transfer and store stuff.

Same...I was on the path to getting back into Linux, then I realised it sucked in a number of ways including the above. Laughing

I got this case from Trademe and is perfect for me.
No worries dropping the phone at all now.

I've put up some photos if anyone's interested.
