kiwitrc: Kopkiwi, are you from Tawa per chance? The S3 is a better all round choice, you can get the One X feel with a Rock cover if you want but the phone itself kills the OneX, I am running a custom ROM now and it fly's. I have had HTC before and they do a great job of Sense and the feel of the phone but thats it.

Yes. Yes I am.

How in the heck do you know that? lol?

Thanks for the mini review. Leaning towards the S3

Ahhh. First world problems. Which electronic doodad to choose? Go the s3. You'll always be hankering for the larger screen and removable storage if you don't.

After careful consideration (read being told by the missus) I will get the S3. Try get the 32GB version and an additional 32gb SD card and won't need to rebuy an MP3 player.

Hi Guys,

Need some advice here. Anyone having calendar sync issue where the S3 duplicate entries like 20 times?

I try to fix it and ended up deleting some entries :( Any tips or trick to resolve this is appreciated.

Thank you

What are you syncing with? Is it an exchange server by chance? There was someone complaining of duplication issues a couple of days ago that was a simple setting issue I think.

ccpptt: Hey guys. I am getting some excessive battery loss while my phone is asleep. For example, 100% battery when I go to bed...and it's at 80% when I wake up 8 hours later.

I have installed BetterBatteryStats and it shows that I am getting 'No or unknown signal' for all the time the phone is asleep. Is this normal?

Phone's (Vodafone) software is completely stock. I have come from an i9000 running CM9 RC2 and this was never the case with that.

a bit of an update:

installed CM9 RC2 on my SIII and the "problem" persists. what's weird is that my phone doesn't lose as much charge while i actually use it, but somehow manages to lose more while it's "idle"...

for the lols, i checked up on my i9000 which has been sitting idle for the past 3 days and it had 71% battery still remaining!

not sure if i had it just right with my i9000, or if there is some sort of issue with my SIII..

I had a look through the last few pages and can't see the posts any more, I think they may have been deleted because it was an easy fix, with luck whoever it was will see these posts and help out. lambchop posted about a similar sounding issue on page 221.

I have 4 different calendar types syncing onto my s3 and all works very nicely, my work exchange one was a little complicated to set up as they have several layers of security, but in the end I was pleasantly surprised android ics was fully supported!

sbiddle: Does anybody have any recommendations for cases?

Otterbox Commuter Series. Adriatica have them coming in this week. I've used these cases with HTC Desire, Desire HD, and my SGS2 and found them to be really good. Great protection all round and don't add a lot of bulk (they do add some though).
