Is there a way of going from ICS to JB WITHOUT having to wipe everything?

Kopkiwi: Is there a way of going from ICS to JB WITHOUT having to wipe everything?

Nopes. The framework is different, otherwise you'll have a circus of fc's. That's if you can manage to get past the bootloop.

- Telstra HTC Touch Pro2 - Energy ROM WM6.5.5 20 Oct/Cyanogen Mod Froyo 2.2 - R.I.P
- AT&T Galaxy S Captivate 16GB on XT (now with brother)
- Samsung Galaxy S2 on XT- Runs ICS 4.0.3 Resurrection Remix 9.2
- Business Hours - Work In The Electricity Industry, After Hours - DJ/Turntablist - Will Scratch Vinyl For Free'
- What's next??? S3?

I would have to disagree, i went from ICS to JB (wanam's deodexed no wipe rom), with no problems, lost zip, nada zilch. It appears to be working fine and noticeably better than ICS

That said, I recently did a complete wipe, installed latest stock rom LG8 and reset CSC to BTU, received last OTA update to LH1 etc. This latest JB rom is effectively the OTA update packaged into a full rom so there is no reason it should require a full wipe, that is assuming you are running the logical base rom to update on which i suspect is stock LH1/BTU. I'm not sure if relevant or not but it looked like a lot of the people having issues on XDA seemed to be on some hybrid/dev rom not stock latest ICS

Wade, so you would consider WANAM JB suitable as a daily driver, ready for showtime etc?

Not sure what you mean by showtime but yes this is definitely a daily driver, not in the same realm as the early pre-release ICS roms which were very hit n miss. I doubt the official release will be much different from this, so far my phone hasn't missed a beat the only flaw i can see is a formatting issue with the setting button on the pull down notification bar

I love how JB integrates the account settings for certain apps (FB/Twitter/tumblr etc) into the main settings menu, dormant mode is great too

Make a nandroid backup, install LH4 without wipe and see how you go, worst case scenario you will have to reflash with full wipe or restore back to your LF2 backup

2GB RAM but only dual core? How does it compare to other models?

I flashed stock XXLG8 from samfirmware via odin, reset CSC to BTU, received LH1 OTA update then I rooted with CF 6.4 so i could install below Rom via CWM

I
have since had a FC on contacts trying to merge however it seemed to shut down reopen in an instant and allow me to merge contacts. Have discovered a cool running ticker news feed option for lockscreen, also emails can show preview in pull down notification bar, also calendar has a couple of nice touches, in month view tap a day and it pops up all appts in a separate scrolable box. resizable pop up video player too is a nice touch.

What is Reset CSC to BTU? I am running CheckROM EvoHD? V4 so I presume you would recommend against "migrating" from that as opposed to the method you used? I guess if I take a nandroid, I can always revert?

Plenty of comparisons on YouTube. The raw benchmark scores are less than the quad core models, how peformance is noted as similar.
