mattwnz: Anyone know how to swap the bottom 4 icons on the task bar? I initially was able to do it when I first got the phone, but after doing some samsung system updates, it doesn't seem to allow them to be switched anymore. I see other people on the net have also had the same problem. If I try to drag an icon down to replace a taskbar icon, the only option is to delete the icon.

I tried to do this the other day on a mates phone (mine is Romed and rooted) couldnt remember how so just put Apex Launcher on it instead. With Apex not only can you drag and drop into your icons into the bottom screen, you also get 3 screens to scroll between.

Anything wrong with this? I currently have 4GB card so anything for me is an upgrade, but is there something I should know about?

From my experience, its very slow when you copy large files from\to the phone. I got a 4G class 4 card in the GS3, and it takes about 3mins to copy a 2GB file from phone to PC.

Thanks, I installed the nova launcher and it fixed it, and also adds that feature of scrolling the tasktray. Also allows you to use gestures which are cool, and works more like an ipad with gestures. Wish they worked in apps too though, so I could go in an out of apps with guestures, like you can on the ipad.
Got to say some of the samsung stock sofware on the phone is pretty poor quality. Many look like the apple apps, but just not quite finished. The calculator for example is quite nice, but on the scientific mode, there is no way to do inverse functions! So you can do sin, cos, tan, but not inverse sin, cos, tan. Coming from an iphone, I find the samsung is quite amateurish, but I do still like it as you can install third party apps instead. The thing I have found though is that withethe app store, there are heaps of free apps, or paid apps that are free for a week. But with android there aren't the quantity of free ones, and the free ones tend to be 'freemium' where you have to pay to enable all the features. I thought it would be the opposite, but I guess the devs need to be paid for their work, and I have purchased quite a few. Swift keyboard is a must have, as the samsung one isn't good.

Try Swype beta keyboard as well, you can get it at beta.swype.com

Re the Samsung apps, it may be because you are not locked in with Android, therefore possibly not worth Samsung reinventing the wheel as it were for Apps that are already available in the store.

That is true with the samsung apps, but then again the same applies with many of apples apps, where you can download alternatives. Apples ones just seem to be far more polished.

Anyone having problems syncing with the Samsung Kies software. I thought itunes wasn't the best software, but the Samsung Kies software is terrible. I can't even connect the S3 anymore, it comes up with an error to say that my device isn't compatible with Kies version 2.0, yet the Kies software is the newest 2.5 version. At least with itunes I never had any problem connecting the device. Have also reinstalled the software and all drivers but it doesn't fix it. Also googled the problem and can see that some people have had the same problem but no fixes. But looks like Kies has a very bad name.

Yes kies it's terrible software, just Google 'kies connection problems' to see how many people have issues and the hundreds of supposed fixes which don't work. I think you'll find most like myself have given up trying to use it

Thanks for confirming it. It is basically an itunes clone, so you would think they could have got it right. Apple would have got a lot of bad press if itunes had the same problems. At least you can always connect an i device to itunes without any problems.
So how are we meant to upgrade the phone software in the future without it? Such as firmware and android updates.
