DoggNZ: Hmmm...just flashed the latest Wannamlite ROM and the Snapper App\Widget is displaying the balance of my 2 Degrees Touch2Pay SIM. This could bode well for any 2 Degrees users who want JB sooner rather then later. The real test will be catching the bus home..... Wear something pretty in case you have to hitchhike.

Let us know if it works - that might just convince me to try a custom ROM instead of sticking with a Telecom branded phone with a 2degrees sim...

Wanam is very good and to me the most stable and I usually go there after each new update. Currently using crDroid it has very good aroma options so you can customise as you see fit and battery life is as good as Wanam. I have been using stock kernel for a while now and have good results so not tempted to try anything else as I don't under or over volt. If you like Wanam try crDroid for a few days Galaxy S4 I9505 Wanam MEA

I guess the balance was cached from when I restored the app with Titanium Backup. If I installed the app from scratch it would have said no Touch2Pay SIM installed I guess. Siyah Kernel has Dual Booting options. Could you Snapper/2D folk dual boot, with a Snapper/2D ROM just for the bus? Does the bus have WiFi? You could try scripting a reboot when the bus pulls up. I'm also wondering if perhaps an enterprising dev could somehow implement the Open NFC API stack that Snapper uses on a custom rom.
