dhi20: Hi,
Sorry if i am posting in the wrong place as i haven't posted before.
I just think it is important to let people know that active docks will not work after the telecom jelly bean update. Seems to be a problem around the world. Unfortunately i found out too late.

Well after finding out about the Google now draining the battery and getting the settings to sort it out ,,,, put my phone into the Samsung dock to fully charge over night (so that I can test if the changes to the settings helps) only to wake up and my phone is only 68% charged Cry

Is there another setting maybe (somewhere ) that will sort this out or is it a fault in the Telecom build ?

Cheers

I disabled Google Now on my fiancee's 2Degrees S3 and it still drains rapidly. Yesterday it hit 30% after 9 hours off the charger with only 1 hour screen time. It's basically halved the battery life.

In my case turning off google now definitely helped.
But comparing to ics though it still drains quite quickly.
For eg before it used to loose 20% battery overnight now its 30%

I'm generally losing 50% overnight.

The main culprit seems to be "Media", is this linked to Google Now, does anyone know ?

Hmm, ok. I read somewhere that a damaged sd card might be causing that then, is that likely.

I bought a new card a few weeks back and it started playing up just recently. Have formatted it, but still unmounts and re-mounts itself periodically.

Sounds like I might need to send it back.

also make sure that, if you have multiple android devices (eg. nexus 7) make sure google now disabled on all devices.

i disabled on phone but still sucking battery a lot ,i realized its the nexus 7 where i still use google now. This re-enabled settings in MAPS that is reporting location

Yeah definitely sounds faulty. I had issues with media scanner going nuts and I reinstalled my rom still had problems. It eventually subsided by itself though. weird.

Guess you never know with some of the resellers these days.  Think (hope) mine is genuine, bought from Gizzo Heaven in the UK.

Here is a screen shot from my phone;

I have disable the com.sec.android... app, hopefully that will make a difference.  After that will remove my sd card and see if that makes a difference.

Has anyone tried using Polaris Office lately, I just tried using it after the update to jelly bean and it comes up with an error "Installing wrong version" and then quits.
It's no longer in the samsung apps either.  Anyone know where to get it?

Thanks Smile

P.S Modern Combat 3 is currently free in samsung apps.

My phone just went to some safe mode, what's that any ideas?

I have a 32gb mSD I bought from mymemory.co.uk and just in last week its started doing many mount and dismounts and varied messages about sd has unsupported files and also other error messages.

Hope the card is not failing!
