Insanekiwi: I work in Grafton area and my s3 with new UK 4.1.2 rom (not rooted) had problems getting data or making phone calls when in 3g but okay when it was on H or H+. Was there a problem in network?

It's working fine at home (Birkenhead) but most of the time it's on H or H+.

Should I be rolling back to Poland rom 4.1.2?

H and even better H+ is what you want, it's a faster connection speed than 3G. No need to roll back the rom.

I know that - but as you can see in another thread - there was upgrade on 3G network, that's why H/H+ worked but not on 3G near my area. It was just coincidence that the next day of upgrade, I am having problems making calls or sending whatsapp messages at work.

Ive been finding when my phone reverts to 3g its almost unusable for data.

I realise its a narrow channel but using an app that send minuscule amount of data even struggles.

Which version of rom are you using? I find exactly the same. Didn't really notice it before. Should try in an area without H orH+. When 3g the data is not loading then it switches to H it rapidly loads data.

Looks like a fix to SDS has been found.. folks are clamouring to find out now if those kernel sources are what XXELLA is built from.

If samsung has stumbled across this then I think they should push this as an urgent update through to all the SGSIIIs. It would save them heaps on replacing so many mother boards as the handsets fail one after the other and they have to get them back in for servcing and then shipping back and all those hassle..

Unless.. technology for them is so cheap that they just dont care.. and would rather replace the motherboards..

Stumbling on their own feet? the fix was found in the update 7 sources that samsung released a few days ago. It is possible that it's what XXELLA is built from.

I'm waiting to see what AndreiLux commits to his git repository, which may be very enlightening.

From what I know is that the sudden death bug more likely to affecting the 16GB models. Haven't heard anything about 32GB being related. I'm holding off to flashing XELLA until I think it is safe to do so :)

First kernel with a soft fix has been released: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1691401

The fix itself is here. It affects VTU00M / 0xf1 eMMC chips. I have myself extracted the kernel from XXELLA, and found the identifying string contained within - so it looks like XXELLA contains a fix.

If anyone is interested in UAG (Urban Armour Guard case) for Galaxy S3 - let me know. YouTube the reviews. It's the version 2 directly from UAG. I have just a few white and blue ones. I got extras with my shipment. Cheers. (I have a few of iPhone 5 whites and blacks as well) They look chunky but apparently quite slim, and very robust. Better than Ottobox commuter - that's why I bought them.

Lol. Thanks for thinking of my S3 health. Yes, it is a unfortunate that the 16GB versions are dropping dead. I've been reading and researching in the shadow since this "Sudden Death" problems were notified in the XDA.

So how many people here had a sudden death problem?

BAHHH can't embed video lol...

downloaded Perseus kernal and will flash shortly but a question, using the emmc bug check it shows my phone is VTUOOM but has no rev number there certainly no Oxf1 am I using right checker from google play?.

So to confirm the stock ELLA kernal released earlier has the fix as that is what I am on.

Going to sound like a noob here but how do I move apps on the GS3 running 4.1.2 to SD card? Is there any app that has a "move all" option? I have downloaded quite a few, select move all and all it does is take me to the settings page with the app details, size etc.

I have found that link2sd is recommended, but that requires root?

I am currently using ES file explorer, but that doesn't seem to have a move all option so is taking an age to move everything over.

Also another question, but kind of related to the first question, where do I find/how do I move big game files. Two examples are GTA Vice City and TDKR (The Dark Knight Rises). I want to move them to SD card but cannot seem to find where they are located. Together they seem to take up about 3.5GB of storage so would love to move them over.

Thanks for the help :)
