TheUngeek: Still get charged gst with royal mail. IMO you should expect it

You?may not?get charged GST, but I agree you should expect it and plan for it.

Oh agreed, I was ready to pay it if necessary. But with DHL you will *always* have to pay, and with Royal mail you may not. That said, I think DHL do scan it once more than the Post does while it's en route, so that's something.

It was interesting, the customs form from Clove listed the value as "400" (no denomination indicated) and the contents as "USB Device" - so those may have helped.

I must be one of those unlucky ones. Arrived in NZ from Clove late Thursday, by late Friday customs decided that some tax is due. Now have to wait until Monday to settle it (they don't on-charge) and hopefully collect it. Wish I shipped in using Fedex.

Fedex wouldn't have been any different as I had the same experience over Easter :-) had to wait until Tuesday following it. Still, it has been worth it :-)

Just had a look at digital mobile site and they have the one X listed as $999 for pre-order. so thats the vodafone official pricing then. it doesn't talk about any rebates like telecom.

In the coming soon banner it says you'll get a set of UrBeats free if you order online, can't beat Telecom's pre-order deal though, unless you're already with 2degrees

So that would be a third place out of three then ;) (discounting the parallel importers and international shippers like Clove of course)

Edit: Ooops should have read it more closely. A tie for 2nd if you aren't on 2degrees.

Any suggestions on APT-X headphones, speakers, or other devices I can use with the One X? Always loved the convenience of bluetooth audio but hated the quality. Really want to jump on the APTX bandwagon, but there aren't many devices out there. The Sennheiser 550-Xs look amazing but they cost an arm and a leg at the moment. And are there any car head units with APT-X built in yet?

Otari I have the Samsung HS1000, it's a bluetooth receiver with Apt-X that I'm enjoying at the moment with my One X. Nice thing about it is that you can use whichever headset you like with it, or even connect it to any audio device with a standard audio jack with a 3.5mm-3.5mm cable. Can be got very cheaply.

I'm guessing most of you have seen it, so sorry if it has been linked before but HTC New Zealand have a competition going on Facebook to win an HTC One X if you 'Like'' them http://t.co/rpQBb5Nf

Have some heat readings while playing DeadSpace

Galaxy S2 @ 15 minutes playing, 32.2 front, 35.1 rear
HTC One X @ 15 minutes playing, 37.9 front, 36.1 rear

So it gets a decent amount hotter than the Galaxy S2 while playing games

Will try playing while charging next

I have this fitbag pouch coming:

http://amzn.to/JllgIR

It's tailor made for the one x, very snug so the phone won't fall out. But it won't be here for another week, so I'm carefully keeping it in a sunglasses bag for the moment. I think I'll forego a snap on case - the slimness and design are so great I don't want to cover them up. That said, the official HTC clear case is supposedly quite good.
