The One X GPS is noticeably inferior to my Note (which has GLONASS like the S3). That lock indoors doesn't mean a lot to be frank, apart from it may indicate improved GPS over older mobile GPS hardware. In actual tracking it produces notably worse tracks than the Note, it's signal is weaker, and occasionally it loses signal altogether. It's fine for basic navigation, but for sportstracking/geotagging and any other GPS related activity that demands more exacting performance it's not up there with GLONASS equipped hardware.

Can't say that is my experience. I use it to track my paths when flying, that is fine.  I have used it on an Adventure Race (http://www.rogaine.org.nz/) and it seems fine.  Worked fine for a 4 hour trek in the Hunua Ranges in the weekend. 

I cant say I have seen a single issue with the GPS.  

skyplonk: I haven't used a phone with GLONASS (or noticed it was enabled), unless my sensation had it enabled? (never had a problem, so never looked.) My etrex 10 has both and my One X does not seem far off.

Sensation doesn't have, at present only ones I know of are the Moto Razr, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S3, iPhone 4S and the AT&T version of the One X (possibly all S4 Krait handsets have it, but I only know for sure about the AT&T One X). I thought you might have used a GLONASS equipped phone before since you said your experience doesn't match mine, obviously if you've not used a GLONASS equipped phone before your experience won't match mine.

Had to google GLONASS lol. IF it improves GPS by a significant amount it must be pretty amazing!

kazza_nz_05: Hi guys. Thanks for the input and yes I do have a small list of things I use the phone for. We did end up going with the HTC one X. So far so good. Only 1 app so far on it that i didn't like was the stock standard email client. Love k9 mail. So using that.
