motorwayne: No probs getting it from the UK?

I second this question, having seen many recommendations for Clove (for example), and the fact that they have the S version (I thought there was only the X - which I think is ugly (although until last night, I had only seen the white), or the V - which I was thinking might be a tad under powered for me), I am curious as to how good Clove are in getting it sent fast, and if it all hits the fan/putting stuff right - is it send back to UK, or do they nominate a local place to handle faults?

I bit the bullet and ordered the white HTC One X from Clove in the UK, Went for the FedEx delivery option.

Roll on 5th April UK release date.

No problems at all. They are very good and have a very good rep.
Royal mail delivers in something like 5 days too! Was pretty fast.

Pre-ordered the grey One X from Clove - was NZ$822 using royal mail -we'll see about gst. The white version looks smart, but I just couldn't see myself using a white phone for two years. Will be a big upgrade from my original Desire, really looking forward to it.

I actually like the look of the One S better, but the pentile screen and only 16GB storage ruled that one out for me. Plus the screen on the X seems a good bit wider, and I've found the aspect ratio of the Desire screen to be too narrow in portrait mode.

I'm with you on those points.
16gb and no sd means no go for me :(

I used to be militant about needing an sd slot, but 26gb of user available space in the X should be fine. However, 10gb of available space in the One S would definitely be too small. However, i will be putting lots of media onto this puppy to make use of the lush screen.

No removable battery gave me pause, but I've actually had problems with the battery power connector being flaky in my desire (my own fault, dropped it),  so having the battery firmly in place means that won't be a problem.

One bonus for me of getting a tegra 3 device  - and I know not many people will care about this - is the built in stereoscopic 3d mode n tegra 3 devices. I work with 3d monitors and tvs, so hopefully I can just hook the X up to a monitor with MHL or the media link and it will natively play the 3d content on the TV or monitor.

Yeah I've got a 16gb card in my desire and it's full. And I've had to delete stuff.
The One X should be ok I hope.
Portable USB charger should keep me out of the poo as well. I use phone HEAPS when travelling. GPS, music, vids etc. Makes being stuck in airports for 5 hours more bearable!

Bugger, didn't think about it for "TWO YEARS" :-) might have to do a double take on the colour and completely check before they are available to ship, might need to change colour....still, I guess I'm a bit sick of black.

Locked and loaded, order in process.

Clove very easy to deal with, if paying by visa you jus need to get the authorisation code (visa can give you this)

The Clove site has an "international" link at the top of their page, click that for all your questions, very well written up

Ordered the One X, carkit and Bluetooth unit, apparently they will be shipping on the 4th April, spoke to them last night.

Cheers

Like the look of the HTC one x. Off to Singapore on Wednesday, I'm tempted to get one. Any opinions?

that would be an ecumenical matter

Android Central and The Verge both said that the One X has the best display they've ever seen on a smartphone. I'm sold.

Battery life from The Verge: "In my stress test with continuous streaming video at maximum loudspeaker volume and maximum screen brightness while connected to both Wi-Fi and 3G, I got four hours and 22 minutes of usage before the phone turned itself off. In a more reasonable test involving "normal" usage, the One X yielded 13 hours and 38 minutes, including a half hour of continuous Riptide gameplay"

Doesnt sound too bad tbh
