So yesterday I noticed my relatively XT branded SGS2 getting very warm especially up round the top near the camera area.  I had downloaded nothing unusual, not strange apps running, it was just sitting there while I was driving (was connected to hands free).  Using task manager I made sure all Active applications were closed and cleared the ram . . . . after a while the phone cooled down.  I had had a problem with the youtube app not responding earlier and wondered if that may have been an issue.  Anyway decided to completely reset phone and then updated any google app.  Fully charged phone.

Today I noticed it was warm/hot again and but could see no reason and then a while later I received a low battery warning and within 5 hours of virtually no use I was down to 15%  The thing that stood out in Battery usage was Voice Command at about 18% but I dont use it and didn't start it, the others were Display, Android Svces and Android sys (from memory) all around 20%.

The phone has now been reset and I am recharging, and I wondered if anyone had any ideas or maybe there is an update I should not download that might be at issue?

Ask the question in the SGS2 thread as there are a heap of people in there and you may have a better chance of getting a response. Having said that I have had this happen to me, but put it down to ROMS and Kernals I was playing with.
