All,

Im still using an E63 Nokia.
My wife has an iphone 4, so have been playing with that for the past year.

Time for me to buy a smartphone as I've kept putting it off.
I own a MB Pro and although I love apple, I seem to really hate iphone....its just not me.

So, Im wondering what kind of phone I want.
Nokia 800 or wait for the 900?
Do I also wait for the Sony Xperia S or wait even further for the P.
OR do I follow the wave and get an SG2?

Android is the way I want to go (however if I see more app's avalible for Lumia, then Im heading that way).

I want a smart phone but theres too many 'comming soons'.

Anyone had issues or have advice with mobicity or xpansys?  They seem attractive to use.

Goose.

how urgent do you need this new phone? if you want something now, i highly recommend xperia S rather than SGS2. if you have time to wait, SGS3 is around the corner (july/aug).

Personally, I'd steer clear of Nokia for a while. They're killing off Symbian (which, let's face it, was pretty much a dead duck anyway) and moving entirely to Windows Phone for their newer models. WP is quite nice (from what I've read), but still only holds a very small share of the market (<5% globally) and isn't looking to make any inroads soon. Nokia will be making something like 80% of all WP phone models, with the remainder spread between several manufacturers (Samsung, HTC, etc).

GSMArena has a decent comparison of the Xperia S vs the Galaxy S II. The Xperia comes out slightly ahead, but is a new phone compared to the (at the time) 10 month old Galaxy. It'll be interesting to see what the Galaxy S III brings to the table when it's released in June-ish.

Nokia Lumia 800 is a fantastic device. Go have a play with a live unit at one of the telecom stores. It's great build quality, comes with free navigation for almost all the major countries out there. There are just over 85,000 applications available from the marketplace that's only growing day by day.

Lumia 900 has a 4.3" display with front facing camera in comparison to the Lumia 800's 3.7" display.

Hell, if the Sony X S comes out slightly ahead of the SGS2 then go for that. You can do a quick spec compare on GSMArena here http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=4240&idPhone2=4369

I see vodafone australia have released the all new white Sony Xperia S  (first phone since dropping the ericsson name) on plan for 49$
No fanfare as they made a bigger deal about the new HTC.

Cant be too long before NZ Voda stocks this puppy..... I cant wait !
(The SE Xperia Arc S has been out of stock for almost two weeks).

Any of the Microsoft evangelists know if Nokia Lumia 800/900 supports WiFi Tethering on a Vodafone NZ sourced phone or VPNs and will it support Apollo when it arrives?

Sony Ericsson S looks good, slightly limited with no microSD and only 32GB for those who like a lot of music on the go.

The Sony LT29i 'Hayabusa' may be quite a phone when we know more about it, but to far in the future for most.
It's mooted to have advances in the camera design, an Adreno 225 GPU and come with ICS out of the box.
