So is this the end of the road for android/flash combo?

I think I remember adobe wasn't going to update android flash and now i come across a content (??Youtube origin) on facebook on Opera (not mobile) that cannot be played

On the stock browser you can't even click on it (a friend's post)

On Windows, Chrome comes with Google's built in flash player in the browser.

Do they do that for Android? Does it work with Chrome?

Unfortunately this is the end for mobile flash, As the websites are updated to require the newer versions of flash adobe have dropped support for it on mobiles.

As a side note you should really upgrade your version of Android, 2.3 is really old & lacks speed & function to alot of the newer OS's

I know that some users with old PowerPC Macs were able to modify the Flash 10.1 plugin (the last PPC version) to report itself as 11.5 - the vast majority of sites that "require" a new version of Flash don't actually make use of the new features. It may be possible to modify the Android Flash player in the same way.

Google Chrome for Android doesn't support flash and it probably will never.

not on 4.0 either.. and then there would be no earlier versions after that, as Chrome was only on 4.0 and up.

In that case - the video is probably html5 standard. Try Chrome.

If you go to the flash player website you can download updated apk's for android, they're not on the market but they are still releasing them quietly.
