I'm planning on running two asus 7950's in SLI
I was wondering how much power I will need to run them?

My rig as is follows,
asrock extreme 4
intel i5-3570k
2 3tb WD drives
OCZ vertex 4 SSD
CX750M Corsair PSU
16gb/32gb RAM. >haven't decided yet.

Its only a guide , I would recommend have an excess of 100 - 150 Watts just incase

seems a little low to be honest.... I would definitely go higher for the headroom (no point in running a PSU to the brink)

So the 750watt PSU you mentioned should be fine

I recently had to replace my nice modular highpower due to sudden death :(

But found the new ATX standards and the better PSUs certifications now all have their rating as the minimum constant output and not a ZOMGDIE@MAX rating.

That is my 550 (purchased on similar calculator 475 recomendation and my old busted fan 425 enermax working just fine as an interim replacement) is 550 with burst output of up to 650
