Will SS ever increase the upload rate, infact will any ISP in NZ up there upload speed, but mainly SS since Unlimited bandwidth deal , id like to stream gaming on Twitch TV at a reasonable rate maybe around 3mbit + for 720p resolution, or would it just be a waste of time since our speed is capped at certain time during the night.

Just a thought as ive seen 0 New Zealand Streamers

There are lots of ways of getting faster upload speed - if you're on the Slingshot ULL network they offer Annex M which does ~2Mbps via ADSL2+, and if you're wanting faster again you can look at VDSL2, fibre or wireless options.

It's not about the ISP increasing the rate, it is the standard/technology that says what the upload rate is. ADSL2+ (G.992.5) has a max upload of 1Mbps on Annex A which is the only ADSL2+ standard offered on the Chorus network. Slingshot offer Annex M on ther ULL equipment ("the better network" as they call it) which offers a theoretical max upload of 3Mbps.

Edit: At the moment VDSL is the best option for most people as it is available now for quite a large amount of people. But other than that, fibre or a fixed wireless solution are the other options.

Yeah, on adsl 360p is your only real streaming option without fully saturating your upload capacity. Anything more than that and you should be looking at vdsl/fibre.

I'm hoping slingshot decide to offer VDSL soon. My house won't get fibre laid until 2017 but we are VDSL ready.
