Im finding that mobile data is very slow (to not at all) around pipitea/train station wellington.

I have iphone 5 with good four bar signal strength.
speed around 0.3Mbps down @200 ping.

I think it is working as intended. Can't say I've ever seen it above 1Mbps...

This was done Featherston / Custom House Quay

this is a slap in the face!

To be fair, I've never been impressed with the speeds I get as well. They are pretty lackluster.

Newtown average is around 4 - 5Mbps downstream. Guessing theres alot more people using in Pipitea though. Report it to 2Degrees even if the chances are near nil they will do much about it, it's always worth a shot.

I've noticed extremely poor performance around the waterfront this week so it may be a network fault.

2D speeds are not awesome in the Viaduct in Auckland too where I live and work

I just put up with it figuring you get what you pay for with $99 for 12GB

I went to contact 2D but frankly it turned into a bit of a hassle with them trying to explain what was going on. I realise tier 1 help desk job is to fob you off

again I just put up with it since you get what you pay for

when I need fast I tether my DC-HSDPA Lumia 920 and get blazing fast

Don't agree with this, investigating how to buy my way out of my remainder. This is appalling! Just a shame that they do offer the best value data deals.

Hi there

Does it only happen here or in other areas? If it's elsewhere there maybe an issue with the SIM. If you notice the same problem with a different 2degrees SIM in another 3G device at the same location, please can you PM me with the following info and I'll get onto our RF team to check this out -

* Your 2degrees number

* The exact location, street name & number, floor level (if in a tower block)

* Are your settings as per http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/iphone

* Other 2degrees devices also affected. We'd need make, model and 2degrees #'s to see if it's an isolated incident to your device or SIM.

* Time/date of issue with how many signal bars

* A long shot but if possible can you try your SIM in another iPhone5? I realise they don't grow on trees :\ but it may help identify if the issue is with your iPhone 5 or SIM.

Cheers
^POB

Seems to be working ok these days. I'm just gonna put it down to my iphone being crappy with data. Sometimes really slow or not at all.

I did these speed tests at z harbor city

crazy high ping

And then it works ok for a few seconds.

seems to be just this area. All iphones ive had do this every now and then. Slow to no data at all even with full signal. tried different sim cards. Happens on all three mobile providers.
