Topic # 114548 23-Feb-2013 08:07 Send private message

My son is with Vodafone and is using aLG android phone. He complains that when he receives a photo as a MMS it appears on his phone as a video clip ie when the picture displays, there are the usual pause, play and stop buttons below the image.
Anyone know how to get it to show without these video controls?

Thanks.

It is treating images in an MMS message like a slideshow. There is no way around this.

I will assume the phone has Android 2.3 or earlier, it was fixed in later versions where having only a single image in the message wouldn't trigger this behaviour.

Devices: Samsung Captivate (AT&T Galaxy S) and HTC One on Telecom. Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.

As above its a slide show as you can add more than one picture per MMS sent depending on total size

Ok, thanks for the explanation. Yes it is an older version of android.
