BuzzLightyear: I'm actually quite pleased with the sports ppv option. $15 per game for a Warriors game is not cheap but then its $60 pm vs. the $90 I'm paying now for Mysky with all the crap I don't need. Plus I don't need to watch all Warriors games live. I can still choose to watch some delayed on Prime. In the NRL off season (5 months after Sept) I won't pay for a thing. All my other TV content comes from Apple TV US, Netflix, Hulu etc. which is much better. I got all excited there for a minute, I only have Sky for the NRL, nothing else but I want it in HD so I guess I am staying where I am :)

Technically there is no reason why they couldn't do HD for on-demand content... except for bandwidth loading and Sky business cannibalisation. I suspect they may introduce HD for on-demand down the track once they are more certain that their servers can handle the on-demand load and they know how many customers they're taking from Sky.

I make the assumption that a DVB-T2 tuner can receive DVB-T. They could just tune it to the freeview frequencies. I think DVB-T2 is a superset of DVB-T, so that assumption would be valid. Certainly I've never heard of DVB-T2 tuners that don't support DVB-T. Same applies with DVB-S2 and DVB-S. my tv tuner on my pc can do dvb-t and dvb-t2

One (11 + 1 =12). 38 Mbps/12 = 3 Mbps or so each + audio. Ross ADSL2+ sync (Kbps): 11577/945, attenuation (dB): 33.0/16.9, Noise margin (dB): 11.5/11.5

My understanding was that all Pay per view content would be broadcast only. I don't think there is an isky type option with Igloo.

If I had to guess, their "front row" channel would be used for high demand/profile sport "on-demand" while the rest of the on-demand content (movies and so forth) would be via internet: Paying 24/7 for the privilege of sports can be a frustration for those of us who just want a big game or special event every now and again. IGLOO allows you to access the best sports live as pay per view events [I read: via "front row"], without the contracted kick in the wallet.IGLOO is pretty fancy. It has the ability to stream loads of blockbuster movies and TV episodes over the internet. You simply rent what you're after from your couch and IGLOO will sort out the rest. Brilliant!

This launches in the UK tomorrow > http://www.youview.com/ If this is how Igloo worked I'd pay for a box and a subscription but in it's current state I feel like I'll be getting a better experience using just a Tivo.

Yes but you are unlikely to be wanting to PPV both at the same time to the same TV set.
