As the title says, we are going on holiday to taupo for 3 weeks and are wanting to take the mysky box with us. The house we are staying at has a satellite dish, both freeview sat and sky digital standard work on it fine.
Will the mysky box work without having to fiddle with the LNB settings? We are in palmy north at present.

Thanks
LMD

50/50 , you wont know till you get there.
However, if both LNB's are round / oval  it should just work

As Brunzy says. Just to clarify though LNBs are not specific to a geography. You could run into either anywhere in the country. Don't be daunted by changing the LNB settings in the box. It is a piece of cake.

Take it and have a go.
If you do need to change any of the settings, take a photo of the screen first for changing it back later!

Im wondering the same when I temp move into a motel.
However if there is no decoder in the room and just pre tuned channels... would plugging in my mysky box on the same CATV/matv line still work? (I suspect NOT).

Apropriate settings aren't accessible n a mySky without the magic code. So it would be sensible to figure out how to get to this setup menu first.

Got the code to get to the LNB menu, and a screen grab of the existing settings if it all goes pear shaped.

Hi Gooseybhai, No it won't work. A Sky or MySky receiver has to plug directly into the feed off the dish, so if there is a receiver in the room, you could plug in your MySky receiver instead. But if there is just a cable from the wall going straight into the TV it will be modulated signals (UHF or maybe even VHF) being sent out of several receivers.

Cheers,   WildBill.
