jjnz1: What about if you already have sky? Any customer loyalty offers/codes?

you are kidding lol, i have been with Sky 10 years and all i have got is a free movie in all that time, once you have been signed up they forget about you.

Wow we get stuff all the time. Free movies, free months trials on channels etc.

you are lucky, i have been with them for 10 -15 years and i have been offered 2 free movies in all that time and never been offered a  free trial , unless reading about it and then ringing up to get it counts and its always Rialto.

Yes they sure do forget about you (unless you stop paying them....then they seem to remember pretty quick!).

They just rely on the fact that they have no significant competition.

Guess what, I checked the mailbox at the house for about the first time in a week (its down a long driveway) and there was a snail chewed DL sized voucher in it with the deal on it, same code too.

So I think right, will call them now and get it as it expires today. This was about 4:55 and I still had to sort out with the flatmate what he wanted. So I call up, press 1 for new customer press 1 for speak to someone and it starts to ring and ring and ring and ring and finally some disinterested sounding person picks up, I ask what time the custoemr services close and then he goes to put me thru. I get someone else, tell them I have the voucher, it expires today and blah blah, she (not sounding disinterested) puts me thru to sales saying that they close real soon.

And I get a bloody voicemail greeting.

I get the feeling that sky _REALLY_ dont want to have any new customers.

Or keep their Old ones either  Embarassed

been with then now for 2years and now we are leaving,

We have been paying $45 a month, $540 a year there about and as a new customer you can pay $25 a month and get my-sky (which would cost me $20 more a month) and they only get a 3 month stand down as far as I know where I get a 28 day's

So I  would pay $780 a year  for the same thing
when a new sky user would only pay $300 and then they only have to pay full price for 3 months how fear is this , does it make you what to hang about ......

Seems the code gets different people different things.

Just got the order sorted out now, I have to pay full price for a multiroom on the deal, but get the mysky at half price but only for the first one, I would have to pay $99 to get the mysky installed on the second one, and no discount on the $15 a month.

Very very confusing offer when they do things like that.

I rang up 2 days after the offer appeared in my mail box (A Saturday) Got Basic and My Sky+ for half price plus $25 "install". It was installed on Monday.
My Sky is the best piece of consumer technology. It just works. Really does change the way you watch TV.

Yeah they will do 1 mysky at half price, but to multiroom another is full price. stink for the flatmate, but I dont see why he cant just order his own halfprice install when they next do the offer.

There was a mixup with the address, the neighbours when they moved in thought they were 34 because thats what some council plans used to show so thought that there was already sky installed here. Lol perhaps thats why I stopped getting them coming all the time to sell it. Wish I could do the same for vodafone and power retailer salespeople ;)

richms - do you think it had anything to do with you calling them for a deal - i.e they noted you didn't sign up on the phone call so they sent you  some follow up offers?

I hope so. I just called and they got my address and he said he looked up and I hadn't been sent any letter with the code, so I must have had a friend who got that code.

Went up against a brick wall trying to get the deal - they weren't interested unless I had a letter/visit from a salesman or marketing call.

No idea if it was because I had called or not. We used to get the hawkers all the time, but thanks to having a camera at the front door anyone carrying a clipboard and not a box could easily just be ignored ;)

Received the flyer as well for our apartment.
Checked I can receive sky - all OK.

Gave them a call last night- all sorted earliest install date Monday but I postponed until next Saturday when I am around.

The guy asked me about upgrading to MySkyHDi - which I said I would go through Vodafone for that and get it for free rather than $7.50.

The sales rep said, because of the half price offer through sky I would not be able to go via Vodafone and get the discount. It would jump up to $42.

????

The little things make the biggest difference.

Anyone got any 1/2 price codes or a good discount would be much appreciated.

mcraenz: Just call 0800 759 555 quote the code 6800 and tell them it's from a mailer and they'll sign you up. I did it today. 12month contract $23.80/month. Free install. Basic package, don't know if it comes with 3 months free sport - not really my thing so didn't ask.

Code is quoted earlier in thread - I tried it but it didnt work because a rep hadn't called/address wasnt lised on their database for mailer sent. Tried to talk my way around it/argue with reason but didnt work.
