hi there

i recently bought a 42"inch panasonic plasma CODE: TH-P42U30Z from harvey norman .
and i'm thinking of buying the hd ticket from sky . but i  read on the sky website that your tv needs to support HDCP aswell as HDMI to get the hd content from . but im not quite sure if my tv can support HDCP ?

can someone please let me know  ?

also im quite a noob on the whole tv front but after doing some research this was the tv i chose to purchase from the recent boxing day sales . i mostly watch sports & movies so considering all this and along with the hd ticket .. was this a good tv to buy ?

cheers :)

All recent TVs will support HDCP on HDMI.  Lack of HDCP was really only an issue with very early flatscreen TVs so you're good to go there :)

As for weather it will suit you for sports/movies, I don't really know how good the TV is, (others may be more help here).  But generally, being a plasma will help you avoid motion blur (on fast moving objects, common with sport!) which can be a problem on some LCDs and plasmas tend to have better blacks and contrast in dark scenes (common in movies) so it should serve you well there too.  Enjoy the new TV :)

You're sorted.
Your TV is (as noted above) HDCP compatible and as a Full HD plasma, it should give you many years of great TV / gaming / movies etc.
