Jaxson I disagree with the racing last year. It was exciting, between teams, and inside teams, and the lack of fuel stops made it another test of strategy. The Schumacher age was processional/painful. Best driver and Best car. Red Bull didnt win every race although they won a lot, but they never drove off into the distance, and more so as season's end. Hope Kimi does well

That fine, you're entitled to your (clearly wrong ) opinion.... Things just didn't sit well for me personally. No fuel stops meant another opportunity to make a mistake was removed. Tyres that were designed to wear out meant it rewarded drivers who could go a bit slower and more carefully. That's fine and all, but I want to see F1 drivers going for it. Kimi was like a machine that you turned on and said drive and he went for it like a maniac until the race was over. Green developments just don't sit well with me when you apply it to racing where they should be going as fast as they can for the entire race. It's a race sport man, not a fuel efficiency test. The addition of DRS zones etc just seemed very fake and cars still can't slipstream like they used to, instead suffering in 'dirty' air behind the car in front. New rules this year such as only being able to defend yourself once off the racing line and not being able to return to it after that manoeuvre just seem like even more tinkering rather than getting to the core of the problems. Anyway, that's just me. And I thought Vettel did lead away from the front a lot actually. 19 races, 15 pole positions, 11 wins....

I agree with tdgeek - I thought the racing last year (2011) was excellent. Red Bull started off dominant and so what if there wasn't a fight for the title? Doesn't detract from the racing itself. Cheers - N

Hey that never happens!! :-) I will clarify a little The days of traction control were bad, as you will agree, removionmg skill so they can all go round the bend foot to the floor. No fuel stops I dont mind, apart from taking a while to see where the strategy played out. Im surprised yopu disagree with no fuel stops, as that removes non driver errors and machine errors, and asks the driver to deal withy a car carrying a full load, and a low load at tace end, more skill required. DRS is an idea but not to falsify car speed. I'd prefer a wider track to give opportunities. Vettel did lead away cos he got pole. And he had a remarkably slow car in a straight line that was better aerodymically and mechanically for grip, but the end result is lap times often close in qualy. He would lead to turn one, but not pull away at 1 second per lap as Schummy often did. Remember that while he and Webber had the best car, and later in the season arguably just the best car by a small amount if at all, he is the best driver, no question. I didn't like him as he always made silly errors, no more, thats Lewis's thing now, that he needs to fix. I like Kimi, a lot, but it will be interesting as his later time in F1 was poor, unmotivated I guess. be good to see him back, and even though he won't be racing for wins, there are 3 races within the race

I emailed Sky yesterday re this year's F1 coverage. Here is their reply: "Sky TV in New Zealand is a separate and individual company to Sky UK and Australia. Currently we are still in the process of negotiations for the 2012 season rights and at this moment we cannot confirm what all we will be covering. We would able to give the details only when the rights are confirmed."

I guess the thing to remember this year is that the BBC (where sky used to get its audio feed from) is no longer the exclusive english broadcaster for F1 (with SKY UK broadcasting the whole race calender) so there will be some negoiation as to where they will be buying their audio feed from. The video is directly from F.O.M.

My understanding is that the BBC will be broadcasting 10 races live and the others with some form of delay. BBC 5 Live radio will be broadcasting from all races. These changes are due to the commercial restructure currently underway within the BBC to reduce costs. Yes, Martin Brundle has moved across to SKY UK for Formula 1 coverage

Just as long as SkyNZ can sort the mess out and provide us with live race coverage of ALL F1 races this year, I will be happy.

James Allen used to be a presenter alongside the great Murray Walker and now feeds his wealth of contacts/info out via this (and other channels. Seems many of the BBC production staff have moved to the SKY offering too though so hopefully there are great offerings no matter what stream we eventually get here etc. http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2011/12/five-bbc-presenters-move-to-sky-f1-team/

They advertise it on TV for the March sports so has to be 100% yes
