but if everything is working now do you think it will be ok or is it best to change the battey?

Put it in the hot water cupboard (Or somewhere similar) for a day or two to ensure you get all the water dried out.  Water isn't the real problem, it's the impurities in the water. Also any dirt present in the device that that get wets can cause problems.

If it's working OK now it should keep working but I would keep it in a warm dry environment for a day or two.  

P.S . Keeping it in your pocket won't do the trick, it's warm but still humid.
