probably a dumb question ...

i am using an LG P500 on a vodafone plan
when i search for available networks i see vodafone and sometimes nzcomms

with my wife's iphone (from the same location) i can see vodafone telecom and 3 degrees

so why does the vodafone mobile not show the telecom network?

actually this is part of a bigger question

i have an airtel sim card from india
which works in my LG when i am in india
but cannot connect to a network when i am in nz

i have a vague idea that telecom provides roaming services for international sim cards??

can anyone help me out here?
thanks!

It doesn't to HSPDA (3G) 850 which is what Telecom's network is.

Your LG is probably just 900/2100 MHz WCDMA (Vodafone), which doesn't match the 850/2100 MHz WCDMA used by Telecom. The iPhone on the other hand supports all bands used by local operators (850/900/1900/2100 WCDMA).
