Well the time has come to move on from my beloved Nokia N900, currently on Trademe..... I am tossing up between the HTC Desire HD, and the Samsung Galaxy S I9000... As for HTC, I have always loved the beautifull looks and build of HTC phones, and HTC Sense is awesome.... As for Samsung, I think the plastic build looks cheap, and TouchWiz looks rubbish, it just looks like an iOS rippoff and not even a good one.... I am mostly already sold on the HTC, but I see the Samsung Galaxy S has a strong support base here, and does have good specs......am I missing something? Thoughts? I have both. I didnt like speaker on Desire HD and gps didnt want to lock on. Screen hard to see in sunlight. So I bought Galaxy S. Sound is good but I cant get used to bluish screen. Easier to see in sunlight. Both cameras are good. Playing video sound through headphones was much better on the HD. I upgraded HD manually to froyo 2.2.1 and gps locks on quick now, but speaker still low. It was very hard decision but I will be selling the GalaxyS. The main factor sound through speakers on HD and Camera flash on HD and mostly I had trouble reading text on the bluish screen on galaxy s. Mind you I have unusual eyesight. HTPC AMD A4-5300 cpu, Gigabyte ga2fa75m-d3h motherboard, , 4GB DDR3 ram, onboard graphics. Hauppuage HVR 3300 tuner, Antec 2480B case, Windows 7 home premium 64 bit using media center

The big issue with the Desire HD is the battery life in my opinion. Other than that it's a beautiful/fantastic phone. I use the SGS and I've gotta say I love it. The big reason though is that I'm running one hell of a ROM that makes it a super phone. It's highly customisable.

A mate of mine got the galaxy and it seemed very chopy when browsing the net, id go the HTC hd7 I just got one its awesome. Very impressive, I had the n900 also I reckon u would love this one. if you not in a hurry to get a new phone, wait for dual cores... (motorola actrix, optimus 2x etc)

Try ultimate rom, It's great as well and you'll likely notice an improvement in your battery.
