+1, They are just a company Vodafone NZ contract for warranty repairs.

Now if Telegistics were in receivership then you could post that in the Telecom forum because they are owned by them but IIRC Mobilefone Repair are a Independent company.

I don't think too many people get their phones repaired these days anyway, as many people now prefer to just upgrade if it is out of warranty due to the new features you get with advances in smart phones.

Also if what I've heard is true that Vodafone stopped using Mobilefone Repair and moved to Brightpoint. I wouldn't imagine much business for them as both Telecom and Vodafone would send their customers phones to their respective companies?

Don't hold me on that tho as I can't remember where I heard that from now and it may only be with the iPhone.

Telegistics, Brightpoint, and a multitude of other solvent trading phone repair firms might disagree with your first statement.

I believe the entire Next Group (inc. MobilephoneRepair & Next Electronics) have gone into receivership.

I haven't seen it make the news anywhere but there is no one picking up their phones and companies like Samsung who contract Next to conduct repairs on their products have an unknown wait time on when they will be completed.

Neither Next Electronic Servicing Ltd or Mobilefone Repair.Com Ltd are listed as being in receivership/liquidation as of a minute ago with the Companies Office.

I recall Next in hamilton 'fixing' my car radio in the 90's, but, not actually fixing it.

Never bothered with them again.

Next in Christchurch has an 'In receivership' sign on the door, and is all locked up. I guess that just leaves Tisco in NZ for "large chain doing general electronic repairs". Bummer.

The handful of times I had to deal with them, I'm not surprised either.
