I want either a 16gb or 32gb for my new Ideos X5 Android. Got one from Trademe but its a dodgy fake kingston which im sending back. Faster is better, was the fake from trademe bad performing or a BS capacity one? I have not had any of the latter recently, the last was a 1 gig that was really 128 megs. Thats why I love paynow on there ;) Richard rich.ms

The best place I've found to buy stuff like this is mymemory.co.uk. I have bought stuff from them in the past and they are very reliable. Doing a quick check their prices are cheaper than buying locally They are based in Jersey (one of the Channel Islands off the UK) thus the reason stuff is cheap (Tax is basically 0 for most companies/people)

Mymemory are good. To be perfectly honest Class is not actually that important - it relates to the write speed, so a faster card will allow you to load it more quickly, but for most people the only really large loading they do is their music collection when they first get a card. The read speeds are very similar whatever Class, so in-phone performance is fine even with Class 2 (incidentally you can record and decode 720p video fine with only a Class 2 card, its what I have in my SGSI). Furthermore, most of the non-Sandisk brands don't actually benchmark particularly faster, even when they claim Class ratings like 10. With upcoming phones that record and decode 1080p it could potentially be an issue, so its not entirely unworthy of consideration, but depends on lot on what your expected use is - most will have no problem with a Class 2 card. I can tell you about Class 2 32GB and 1080p recording as soon as I get my SGSII (or sooner if I can an LG Optimus 2x or something). EDIT: In terms of brand I usually get Sandisk, I would recommend sticking with them. I have also had an A-Data 16GB card which was fine also, but no idea about their 32Gb cards (if they even produce them). EDIT EDIT: Regards Sandisk 32GB cards, I've seen some Class 4 rated ones advertised here and there, just looking at Sandisk's website it doesn't look like they sell them. All the pausing problems I had with the old nokia 2730 went away with the change between a 4 gig class 2 cheapo and a class 6 not so cheapo card. The class 2 could have been a total piece of crap since it was from trademe but it definatly caused problems. Richard rich.ms

Either a bad card, or bad optimisation in the Nokia (I suspect the former), but it shouldn't happen. The write speed on a Class 2 32GB card is 9MB/s, read is 15MB/s. I'm not aware of any current in-phone use-case scenario that needs that. Twitter: @nztechfreak Blogs: AndroidNZ.net

Just got a Class 4 mymemory 32GB card and a fresh Sandisk 32GB Class 2 card, running some crystaldiskmark benchmarks on them now... They test read/write in the following order: Sequential Random 512K Random 4k Random 4K (QD=32) I think overall, despite the respective Class ratings, the Sandisk is far better than the mymemory card. Its better across all write parameters, by quiet a bit when you get to smaller write-sizes. Its read parameters are in the order of half the mymemory card, but I can't really see an in-phone use-case scenario that would need better in any case? Twitter: @nztechfreak Blogs: AndroidNZ.net

My 32gb class 10 Sandisk from MyMemory has sarted failing and giving loads of errors in my S3 so im sending it back.
