Yes, somehow I did manage to scratch my almost new Xperia Play. I personally blame having too much fun with the lightsaber app.

Can anybody recommend a scratch removal polish. I can't feel the scratch so I assume it's not too deep, it is long though and therefore bugs the **** out of me.

Also I have tried toothpaste to little avail.

Brasso can be pretty good, but I have never used it on a phone screen.

CD scratch repairers might do the trick too, but again, I have no experience with it.

brasso works on perspex, but it is an abrasive so will leave tiny scratching. I would use it on a phone screen. AL:so is hte phone screen really glass. Glass screens tend to have an anti fingerprint coating, so I wouldn't do anything, and whould just suck up the scratch.

Be aware that the glass often has coatings which make it easier to slide across or clean, which would likely be ruined by trying to use an abrasive on the scratch.

Yeah, I think I'll steer clear of Brasso, the last thing I want to do is make it worse. Though I think some sort of mild abrasive would be necessary. Might just have to live with it. Cry

If it's a touchscreen phone and it's scratched, then leave it alone. You'll end up wrecking the digitiser or oleophobic coating if you try polishing it out.

I believe there are products like they use for filling cracks in car windscreens, but I've never seen them used.

Brasso is nasty stuff and shouldn't even be used on brass if you can avoid it, there are far better products around. Chromglanz if you can find it, or trusty Autosol are much less abrasive than Brasso and do a good job.




"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".
