If you are a Microsoft TechNet or MSDN subscriber, do you get any complimentary access to Office 365?

It doesn't show up in MSDN for me. Subscription is "Visual Studio Ultimate with MSDN" which seems to include (almost?) everything.

Correct. 30 day trials can be extended if you ask. Or if its for testing you could keep creating trials. Depends what you're trying to achieve.

Relectant to migrate data for a trial and it's pretty pricey to have running as a compare and contrast exercise. Thanks for your input.

ps. currently running a shared account with my wife on Google, with the calendar sync being so dire and endless Google fan-boy reassurance that it's great, I'm interested to move it to 365 to compare, instead I'll just create another account on our Exchange server and be done with it.
