Hi there,

I'm considering using http://www.thecloud.net.nz/ for cloud storage of a fair number of files.

Has anyone had any good or bad experiences with these guys?  I'd be grateful for your opinions.

Chris

How long have they been around for? I have never heard of them. You should contact them with some questions to see how good their support is in terms of speed, technical knowledge and friendliness.

I've been a customer of theirs for a few years now and have found their services very stable and their customer service fantastic.  I wholly recommend them (and I'm not being paid to say that!).

Hey guys.  Founder and CEO here (disclaimer).

How long? 4+ years.  Originally as a brand of LayerX Limited (www.layerx.co.nz) but we split it out into it's own company last year. Currently home to over 200 cloud customers and growing.

Our "about" page would be a great place to start, http://www.thecloud.net.nz/go/about and our support portal will tap you into the Operations Team http://support.thecloud.net.nz

I'm more than happy to share technical info should you need it, and we have a bunch of documents outlining how we do what we do (being transparent is key).

HP are currently working on a global case study around the platforms we've put it, very HP centric and all atop the wonderful HP 3PAR SAN technology (in each site).  All the "smarts" are written by our own development team (that's the self-service and instant provisioning stuff) and we're continually adding features - we love feedback too!

I'm travelling for the next two weeks but will keep an eye on this post for questions that I can answer.

Regards
Bruce

First came across LayerX 4 years ago and can sing only praise for them.  For the most part they became the TheCloud last year.  The change has been part in name and in part the introduction of their new high tech cloud services they now offer.  We run a hybrid platform, part our own virtual platform (managed by TheCloud) and part using TheCloud's cloud based platform.  'Hat tip' to TheCloud.
